Hi! I know we haven't talked before, but I'm glad you asked, despite it not being direct. It's been a while since someone has asked. I'm scared. 5 AP exams in the next two weeks. One of which... I know nothing about. I've only put myself as part of the course because I got my recommendation letter from the teacher but I've had no motivation, and because I'm terribly indecisive, I can't choose whether to try to cram everything I know by Thursday to stress myself but try my best, or just wing it.
well hello there! i am sara. it's nice to meet you. now that the formalities are out of the way, here is my very educated collegiate advice: study. but study in intervals. i've found that works best for me. i've been in similiar situations, where i've had to swallow a lot of knowledge in a short amount of time, and sitting with the book and my notes open for four hours was not cutting it for me. after a while, i was just reading words and not absorbing the material AT ALL.
my therapist recommended that i study or do homework in half-hour or forty-five minute intervals. study for forty-five minutes, take a ten-fifteen minute break. get a snack. go on a quick walk around the campus. stop thinking about work for those few short minutes. honestly, it's helped me retain SO MUCH more material than i ever have when i tried studying before.
at the end of the day, go into your exams confident that you've done all you can do and give it your best effort. (provided that you do, indeed, do all you can do and not wing it - not a great way to feel great about yourself!) and, professionally, treat yourself after your exams are all over. get some ice cream. burn your notes. celebrate! it feels good. and let me know how they go! i'd love a follow-up to this! much love xx
