To mod rhea i dont live in an apartment but a house make sure that all d lights bulbs work when u or while searchimg move some places wont have working light bulbs on places like the kitchen (this has happen 2 times already i moved 4 times) and when it comes to saving call ur internet provider or cable company before moving to see if they cover ypur area and two arrange stuff i had no cable or internet for a month cuz i didmt thought ahead

I live alone, but try to get one that includes utilities in rent! Take tours before you commit! Read all fine print! Ask tons of questions representatives are usually happy to help! :)

Thanks!!! It’s especially difficult because I’m trying to do all of the work in advance - here’s the catch:

I live in Pennsylvania. My fiance lives in Virginia. We’re moving to Virginia. So I’m here in Pennsylvania trying to find solid apartment complexes and get information. Seriously, I have a notebook full of numbers and approximate costs and Wal-Marts (I work at Wal-Mart) close by with their store numbers and the distance from Blake’s workplace to the apartment complex, and gas prices and costs of Internet access and everything. It’s excessive. I’m planning way ahead. 

We’re moving the 31st of May-1st of June, so it’s coming up on us pretty soon and it’s becoming a problem. I’m heading down to Virginia on April 24th, 25th, and 26th, and I’m planning all of these apartment visits (I’m trying to get it narrowed down to four so when we go down there we can have just an entire day of visitation) for the 25th of April. I have one set up for 10am, one for noon, one for 2:30, and I’m looking for another one to put in at 4 or 5pm. I’m hoping hoping HOPING that the third apartment, the 2:30 visit, is THEEEE apartment for us. It’s great, the rent is reasonable based on our combined income, and there are some nice things about it including it’s close to the beach (not important but hey - that’s a nice extra, right?!). 

Soooo...I have to be completely prepared. See where the problems can arise? It’s really easy for something to fall through and it ends up failing and then we have to put off moving for another couple months til I can get back down to VA for some more apartment visits. I’m just trying to be prepared :(

Hello, friends! It's me, Momma Rhea. 

I've got a question for you guys, as well as other mods and just everyone in general:

I'm moving in with my fiance at the end of May! We're taking a huge step forward in our lives, and we're wondering if you have any tips for getting your first apartment, dealing with the extra bills, and still being able to save money! How did your first apartment renting go? What was your visit like? Did you have trouble getting a lease due to credit issues? How was the stress factor when it came to bills? Any coping methods?

Any information would be incredibly helpful! Feel free to reply to this post, submit a link or story, or shoot us an ask with your experiences!

It sorta seemed like the tinder guy was just trying to be casual and the girl was trying to provoke him.

That's usually how stuff like that happens. Tinder isn't REALLY a "dating" app. It's more of a hookup app. I can't name a single person I know how has gone on a date from Tinder, but I can tell you probably 20 different friends who have hooked up based on Tinder matches. 

In 10 years it's gonna end up being "Oh, how did you guys meet?" - "She swiped right, I messaged, and, well...it was all history from there. *bats eyelashes*"

Feminists on Tinder aren't there to get dates. They're there to get Tumblr posts and notes. They intentionally provoke guys who are there to hook up amongst a sea of otherwise chill women who are ALSO there to hook up.

Just want to recommend Wild Geese; a movie from the 70s that was shockingly forward! Thought tumblr might appreciate it, it's currently available on American Netflix.

Rhea, is it true that you're engaged to someone from the social justice scene?? I'm so excited for you if it is true!!

Aw, anon! It's mostly true; we're not engaged just yet but planning on it mid-February when I take a trip to his state and stick around a few days. It's also true that he IS from the social justice scene and, although neither of us are really into the whole thing anymore, RSJ was how we met. :)
