hello! i just wanted to ask you a question referring to your nora cosplay, as i am planning to cosplay as her as well! do you have any tips as to how to start out her hammer? im sorry to bother you about it im just at a major loss here unu

Well if you don’t mind, I’ll just tell you my whole process! To start off, disclaimer, this is only my second prop ever, my first big prop ever so I have no doubt my methods can be improved upon. That being said let’s begin!

First off I found a bucket I liked. I wanted the head of my hammer to roughly have a radius the size of my head or slightly bigger. Cut the holes in the side for the grenades then my dad helped me out with screwing the bucket into a beveled piece of wood, which he then screwed our shelf piece thingyings into the side. So we made the head detachable by putting a dowel in the handle to stick in to the mount of the bucket, and drilled a hole through the shelf pieces and the handle to put a screw through as well. 

so I built around the bucket with craft foam and painted it with wood paint to harden it so I could get an idea of the shape and it would stay in the general places I wanted. I put idk they were random plastic tube things in the garage that I cut to stick in the opening of the bucket to help support the round shape and also to stick a wrapping paper roll on it to build the stick out part of Magnhild. (But then my dad dropped it and it fell off and I realized it was easier to build that part when it wasn’t connected ha)

So yeah I build around the roll with craft foam, painted that too, then glued it into my support X. I built the support button piece out of insulation foam (which you HAVE to paint in woodglue and then spray with plastidip to waterproof and harden it)

So then I finally made the middle pieces. I had glued them to the straight middle piece, but then I had to cut it off from the middle to put the worbla on sooooooo yeah. Anyways I made my handle pieces out of insulation foam too

so then Dori cut out all the designs and glued them on the pieces

Then I put worbla around all the pieces

and then spray painted yaaaaayyyyy!!
