As I feared it might, going to the Fremont Solstice Parade alone really reminded me how much it sucks to not have any local friends to do that kind of stuff with. I also was weirdly nostalgic at the beginning when the naked bike ride was happening. Like, the first group of bikers came into view and I started tearing up. So I guess add naked, elaborately painted people to the list of things that make me cry (almost cry, I held it together).  Another thing I learned is that if you have a group of people and a vague theme (or not), you can be in the parade. I don’t feel like there were as many floats this year as there were the time I went 4 years ago. Hopefully I’ll have some friends to go with next year... the two friends that I had that did the naked bike ride in Portland with me agreed they’d come out and do it with me next year. It probably won’t happen, but I appreciate the thought.

“I have to fully commit to Tanya with everything I can or let her go. It cannot continue this way.” He thinks.

 

Alice, catching his eye, nods. She knows where his mind is.

 

“If I can give her just half as much as Jacob gives Bella, if not, I need to let her go.”

 

“I agree. Do you think you can?”

 

“I am going to try. She is owed that much and I do love her, as much as I can.”

 

“Good. I really like her and I like you two together.”

 

Later

 

“I have come to a decision.”

 

“Yes.” She looks up at him. They are walking in the woods surrounding the Cullen property, hand in hand.

 

“I cannot give you my whole heart, because, as much as I wish otherwise, Bella still holds most of it. I will, however, give you what I have to give. I will give you my loyalty, my fidelity, my concern, my thoughts, my protection, and, my heart and as much love as it still holds.”

 

“Thank you Edward. That is all I can ask and more then I would have dated to hope for.”

 

“You are welcome. I am sorry it took so long to decide.”

 

“It’s okay. I know it has been hard on you.”

 

“I didn’t mean to make it hard on you too.”

 

“I understand.” She wraps her arms around him. He hugs her back.

 

“I love you Tanya, as much as I can.”

 

“I love you too.” There is no qualifier on her statement.
