@fumbledeegrumble - Did you  know that by screenshotting @hyaenax ‘ s description (which are words that they themselves wrote), we were actually just putting bigoted words in their mouth? Especially on my end, considering they were defending being ableist towards me which was apparently okay - but apparently, I was being bigoted towards them for....idk...?

There’s also folks saying shit like “this is why everyone hates ace people” and “why are ace people so embarrassing”...

Oh, trust me, I know that shit. It’s been uh, six years I think since I joined Tumblr the first time, and that was as an asexuality activism blogger. (I still keep my hand in offline, but I’m also most of the way through my PhD and pretty damn burned out. I left Tumblr the first time because it was giving me panic attacks; I was 0% surprised by the reactions I saw when I scrolled absently through the responses this morning.) 

Which is part of why I wanted to punch shit so badly, tbqh. I’m here to have fun and dork about fandom because there’s literally nowhere else active to do it; I’d rather not see someone being a dick and knowing that it’s going to trigger a backlash to ‘make my community look bad’ being passed around as a joke.

I also just happen to know that actually saying something about it is likely to draw me further into the whole mess, and like I said, I gave myself panic attacks at the sight of shit like that last time I immersed. Would prefer to avoid, please-and-thank-you.

Okay I've got internalised ableism , next argument because you're repeating yourself and it's fucking annoying . Okay 1) I don't care if you wanna discourse with me and am an adult . But , as I said , if you wanna use that as an argument , then act your age , pissant . Otherwise your argument is useless and Not Gonna Work for you 2) listen , I get that you're a cis , white gay , and that your privilege has completely fucked your way of understanding how oppression works — but "aphobia" will NEVER be the same as transphobia , or racism , or homophobia . I reblogged my friend, @fumbledeegrumble‘s post and made a comment to them that had NOTHING to do specifically with Ace people and more to do with the onslaught of bullshit that they and I have had to deal with today.  It closely resembled the message you sent them and while you may not have meant it that way, it’s how it came off to me.

Exclusionists can come at me for a lot of things but do not EVER make up some sort of bullshit in relationship to me somehow invalidating Ace people.

Go fuck yourself.
