I already got too attached to tboy Iyozane to really commit to making it myself but I think tgirl FumiIyo would go hard. Like, thematically.

If nothing else I'm also attached to tgirl Fumikado so my FumiIyo is still t4t. I just think in the same way you could do a lot with Fumikado canonically trying to embody a male historical figure due to the expectations set upon her, you could also do a lot with the fact that Iyozane was the heir to a patriarchal power system and felt trapped in the life that resulted from that. Like most of that was the house arrest, but I imagine she would've been forced to comply with gendered expectations. I apply this to my tboy Iyozane headcanon but it works for all trans headcanons really so I think it'd be fun to see a trans femme take on it. And FumiIyo already have narrative parallels.

To round out the asks about Fumikado and Iyozane, thoughts about FumiIyo? To me, they're very interesting~

FumiIyo is definitely interesting! Two people, belonging to the enemy faction of the other, siding together against the world...

Following my theory on species classification, Fumikado sees themselves as they are. Someone who once was human, but no longer is. So when they see Iyozane, someone who stubbornly insists that they're still human, the feel pity.

And doubt. Iyozane still insists they're human because their humanity was forcibly taken away from them, but that didn't happen to Fumikado, right? They willingly gave away their humanity, right?

But, well, they have each other. Two lonely people forsaken by the world, to the point where they've lost their humanity, ironically making them more human.

It's about time the world knows who they are, isn't it?

Look, I headcanon Iyozane as trans male, and no matter what, my Iyozane is going to stay trans male because of favorite character projection bias.

I really need a trans sapphic to get into Len'en, get her hands on FumiIyo, and make them trans sapphic, because let's be real, there is a lot you can unpack with these two by making them trans femme.

That was remarkably stupid, even by Fumikado's record. Iyozane watched in horror as the oil recoiled across the entire room. Luckily, they were both able to dodge it, and Iyozane was quickly able to contain the explosion with a lid.

"Why would you dump ice into oil?!" Iyozane yelled.

"I thought it'd cool down faster!"

Iyozane sighed. Surely even their past self, as ignorant about the kitchen as they were would've never made this mistake. (It helped that they used to be terrified to cook with oil.) "You can't force oil to cool down faster. You have to set it aside and wait."

"But I don't wanna sit in the kitchen all day," Fumikado pouted.

"You don't have to. As long as it's away from the heat, it should be good to leave alone for a while."

"...Well, at least I got a new spell card idea."

Iyozane couldn't help but laugh. "Aren't you getting the wrong lesson out of this?"

"I just think it'd be cool, okay?"

"Whatever you say."

Easy Mode: >Since Fumikado is a medium, sometimes they let Iyo's ghost friends possess them so Iyo can have a proper conversation with them. >They use Iyo's ghost friends as a substitute AC (saves money). >Fumikado probably helped Iyozane out when Iyozane turned out to be something that definitely isn't human (only vaguely related to ghosts).

Normal Mode: >Sometimes they use seals for... Alternative purposes. ;) >They taught each other about seals (since I imagine their specialties are different). >If they make a seal together, it's gonna be like, super powerful and shit.

Hard Mode (side note: Is this based on that certain fic that I can't mention here?): >Tsubakura likes to sit on Kuroji like a chair from time to time. >Tsubakura would totally hog all the space if they shared a chair. >Tsubakura got annoyed at Kuroji not having comfortable chairs at their house once so they bought some for them.

Unreal Mode: >Tsubakura is willing to cheat during their sword fights and it pisses Saragimaru off. >Saragimaru sometimes forces Tsubakura into an impromptu sword lesson when they notice Tsubakura slacking on their form. >Saragimaru thinks Tsubakura's ink sword is sick though.
