My favorite flavor of megatarn has to be this wonderful angsty cocktail of tarn being in love with megs but Megs doesn’t fall in love with tarn until postwar, where tarn has been forced to grow as a person outside the cause and his become kind of jaded with megatron. Tarn of course is deeply conflicted and angry when Megs tell him, because here Tarn had molded himself for Megatron’s wishes and wants, and Megatron only wants him now? He wants him like this? Not his powerful weapon, but as this—as Damus struggling in this new society? Hurt, angry, and jaded because his own lord decided to give up? Why only now does Megatron want him?
The hardest part, perhaps, is that despite all the pain and anger, Damus wants him still. Wants to say yes to his confession.
(Throw in some TarnOp and megop too, and you’ve got a wonderfully painful stew of Optimus, Megatron, and Tarn sorting out their postwar shit while Tarn is also dealing the strangeness of being loved not for his service but for who he is.)
Fascinating emotions here!! Several fun painful opportunities :3
Such a fascinating irony to it :)
