HERE IS THE FORTE-VERSE SPARKLING GUIDE!!

This guide doesn’t apply to my other aus but some aspects may in the future. Especially the last part. (I love the concept of cold construction.).

Conception

Conception can be non sexual and can just happen if conjunxs are just merging and if they’re bond is strong enough, no interface is required.

Carrier Terms and the Sire.

Emergence

Sparklings are ultra sensitive to EM fields. Especially their parents. It’s very important the parent manages their emotions because of how closely their sparkling shares them. Complex feeling can confuse sparkling and stress them out. It’s considered customary to weaken your EM field when a sparkling present, large emotions could be the equivalent to yelling in someone’s ear to a sparkling.

Sparkling temperaments are most commonly very calm and loving but very aggressive or scared to other adults they aren’t familiar with. But they’ll warm up quickly if their parent is familiar or positive towards the person. But if their parent feels neutral or negative about a stranger, the sparkling may react strongly. For example if a carrier is nervous about taking their sparkling to the doctor, the sparkling will react to that by either being really scared of said doctor or hostile.

Sparkling love other sparklings! They’ll group up if they can.

Complications

Many things can happen to a sparkling when a bond is broken. Worst case, a carrier will abandon the sparkling. But most of the time it’s an emotional distance carrier taking care of an anxious and scared sparkling. The sparkling can tell that there’s no love from their carrier causing them to feel unsafe. The sparkling may cry and seek out the other parent. That makes it harder for the carrier to mend the bond with the sparkling.

Primus born

This was all prewar stuff. During the war cons and bots would fight over working wells, Autobots wanted to protect new sparks while cons took advantage of cold construction to create new warriors. Till one day, they just stopped. Now as the war is finished and the concept of companies or factions holding dominion over Wells is no more. However most wells seem pretty dead. But who knows! Wells can pop out anywhere.

While I adore the widely accepted notion that Sire and Carrier are gender neutral equivalents to a mother and father in Cybertronian society, I also feel like the concept of robo reproduction and the typical nuclear familial structure makes them too culturally human to be a robotic alien race.

I raise you this concept:

In Cybertronian society, the typical way a sparkling is raised is with the ‘It Takes a Village’ mentality. Since bots all come from hotspots and have no biological attachments like humans, it’s typically the group of grown bots that are most commonly in contact with a sparkling that raises them. These bots, however many there are, are considered ‘Sires’.

And a bitlet can have a LOT of Sires.

The easiest way to translate the term Sire into a human term would be ‘uncle/auntie’ but also simultaneously ‘mother/father’ as well as an honorific similar to ‘sir/ma’am’ with a deeper emotional connotation. A sparkling will differentiate the bots that helped raise them from others who didn’t by calling them ‘Sire (YourNameHere)’ or just ‘Sire’.

Now, Carriers. Carriers are comparatively much rarer and it’s entirely possible that a sparkling has no one they consider to be their Carrier. A Carrier is often one individual in particular who formed a particularly deep emotional connection with the sparkling and is the person the sparkling holds in the highest regard.

Carrier can be (very) roughly translated as ‘Mother/Father’ as well as ‘Mentor/Guardian/Caretaker’ and is called as such because they have, both literally and metaphorically, carried the sparkling with them in their life. Their bitlet is as much a part of their life as they have been in the bitlet’s.

An example of this social structure can be seen with Bumblebee.

He has Elita, Jazz, Moonracer, Chromia, Ironhide, and Ratchet who he refers to as Sires, but Optimus is his one and only Carrier.

Concept

Transformers need transfluid throughout the gestation period to build the sparkling

However, if they don't get any the bitty just stays at whatever stage they're at for however long the carrier keeps from getting spiked

Could have some tasty stories with bots realising they're sparked in the early days of the war & keeping the bitty in the first trimester, maybe even forgetting about it in the heat of the war, until it's peacetime & bam carrier protocols go haywire

You could have some especially angsty situations where bots don't realise they're carrying until they land in medbay, either their own side's or as a prisoner of war

Ah imagine Deadlock carrying Ratchet's bitty all through the war 🥺 or messy break up megop 🤭 double carrying refusing to let go of that little piece of the other

Cybertronian Colloquialisms - Primes Edition

So we've all heard "By the AllSpark!" or "What in the Pit?" or "Oh Primus" in our TF media. However, I feel like TF writers are missing out on the goldmine that is colloquialisms invoking the different Primes. So, here is a small collection of such colloquialisms, and please, feel free to add more if you have any of your own you use.

"Primus below!" - Exclamation similar to "God above!", invoking the fact that Primus is the core of Cybertron.

"Vector give me patience" - Often paired with "because if Prima gives me strength, I'm going to need bail money." The go-to for when somebot if getting on your last nerves.

"To Alchemist!" - A popular drinking toast, to thank Alchemist Prime for inventing high grade.

"The Three Below" - Refers to Solus, Onyx, and Micronus, the three Primes who formed the Well of AllSparks

"Maximum Blessings on you" - a stealth insult/curse from some dialects, where "Maximum" and "Maximo's" are nearly indistinguishable. As Liege Maximo was the Prime of Lies and Trickery, it's a fitting way to wish someone ill.

“Solus’s slag pit” - Used for something incredible, awful, and incredibly awful. Often used to refer to the latest high society fashion mess.

"Find peace or take it up with the Fallen." - In other words, calm down or screw off.

“As you say, my Liege” - A condescending remark towards a person who’s attempting to lie, cheat or mislead.

Again, if you have any primal colloquialisms you use for your fics, reblog and share them with the rest of us.

For the person asking about tf!Zam, what I remember from watching her streams is this:

She's a Stella, which are one of several sapient species on Mars and are some kind of working class under Martians. She grew up working a lot, particularly mining and potentially with bounty hunting, although this has not been stated as such. What we do know is that her parents wanted her to be a bounty hunter or a miner and had very high expectations, hence why they named her something that roughly translates to "prince".

She did not like her life on Mars and seems to have been very lonely. She has said she never had anyone else worry about her or concern themselves with her survival back on Mars. Because of this (or some at this point unknown reason) she decided to leave Mars, which was considered highly taboo and may have been quite experimental, as space flight seems to be a rather new technology.

Once she arrived on Earth, she spent some time working at a circus, where she at first did not realise that the visitors were laughing at her, not with her. I think she also had a boyfriend at this time, as I believe she said he was a co-worker when she mentioned him and to my knowledge she hasn't had another job since. That relationship ended poorly, though I don't remember the details. I do think that she described it as him becoming unpleasant and demanding though, and she was the one to break it off.

After leaving the circus tf!Zam came to the capital and was poorly received by the residents, who seem to have feared or derided her. At some point she seems to have resorted to stealing for her survival and she was living out of a cave before coming to the academy. She saw recruitment posters for dragon riders and, thinking it would be some kind of performance job, signed up.

For general info she also wears a space suit with a crystal embedded in the chest which allows her to breathe, does not have a sense of smell and has pink viscous blood. She also was considered very weak on Mars but has discovered that she is much stronger in comparison to Earth creatures.

As a small bonus as well, she has once or twice stated that "all Stellas have yellow skin", which may be true, but cc!zam made a throwaway joke once about "having the wrong skin colour", so it may also be her trying to establish herself as "normal" to people who don't know she's "wrong".
