to ME, Sam and Jess took the Stanford course on American Sign Language together and so he fell out of practice because practicing reminded him of her, and then he tries it with Eileen and he's rusty, but she teaches him how to do it right, and all this to say, the great and terribly human loves of Sam's life were both tied to ASL
