The metallic stench filling up Qiran's lungs was far too familiar to be confused for else: blood.

Not theirs, but oh - how they wished It was.

How they wished they weren't on the cold, rough ground, deep into Nadaka's silent, dark forest, clinging to their loved one's now red-stained body, rocking him back and fourth, tears falling on Shou's face, just like drops of rain.

An huge wound that originated from the right side of his neck to his abdomen was threatening to paint the ground red. His breathing worsened as the seconds went on, whereas his heartbeat began to slow down.

The moonlight did not touch the pair, almost as though it wanted to keep them hidden.

Neither of them could talk: one barely holding It togheter, the other closer to Mors's touch. Not even Nephele herself could bestow him protection, after all, what protection could she give for him? A surviving offspring of both a demon and an human, an union unprecedented yet deplorable?

No matter whether they'd invoke her name, she wouldn't have replied to their prayers. Not now, not ever.

Qiran knew they had to act fast, as they couldn't allow panic to swallow them even more, making them shake and weep further. They knew they had to go somewhere - anywhere else, but they couldn't leave his lover in those conditions either.

When their eyes met his, realising how their loved one was falling both in and out of conciousness,as he battled quietly for his life, they knew what they had to do.

Qiran gently raised the man's head, as they came even closer to their lover. After a moment of hesitation, they leaned their other arm over to Shou's mouth.

"SHOU -!"

They panicked, as their breath increased and so did their heartbeat.

"- Listen to me! Demons need blood, right?!? You do as well, don't you!?"

Qiran soon followed with a pause.

"Then if so - just...please...?"

They begged, as they leaned their arm even closer.

They could see a glimpse of pure fear through Shou's widened eyes, however, when he tried to talk, to avoid the inevitable, he could not. A mouth open, without any sound.

The only thing coming from his mouth was a faint, quiet panting, soon accompaigned by the sound of drops hitting the ground.

He had just begun to cry. He couldn't do it.

Qiran quietly hushed them, as they slowly started to caress his face. Shou had tried to keep his eyes shut and pretend not listen to his partner's proposal, to no avail. His head was quickly brought back up, however their arm was far closer than It was before.

He opened his eyes, staring at theirs once more.

Shou knew that he would have never forgived himself if he were to die in their arms, and leave them alone to sob until they physically could. Qiran gave him an encouraging nod, their eyes trying not to pour as they waited for an answer.

After gathering up enough courage, he opened his mouth, a pair of long, sharp canines emerging as soon as Shou's mouth made contact with Qiran's arm. His heartbeat was now increasing with every moment passing.

Then, he bit It, his eyes closing altogheter.

He sunk his teeth into their sweaty flesh, trying not to cut too deep, as he needed blood to flow from the fresh bite. However, as soon as he gulped a few drops from the bite, he felt like he had just gained another life.

The adrenaline rush made him thrust in even more, as with every gulp a part of his wound healed. He was in a state of bliss, up until he opened his eyes, and soon noticed how Qiran's head faced the other way, as they trembled, writhing in pain.

Shou stopped, realising how much he gave in. The sharp, shooting pain was the only thing occupying their mind, as they felt their energies fading more and more as they felt their blood pouring. They swear It had reached their hand for how much they were losing.

He slowly raised his head, his canines abbandoning the flesh he had just damaged. His wound had pratically healed itself, disappearing altogheter. He gasped for air, almost as though he had been underwater for quite a bit of time.

Shou was now sitting, slowly getting used to his sorroundings. Yet, the same couldn't be said for Qiran. Their wound was pouring as much if not more than his, as they felt weaker and weaker.

Neither had something to treat it, or to wrap it in. However, that's when Shou noticed just how long his own robes were, followed by a quick -

- Slash.

He had just torn off part of his sleeve with his nails, as he was fast to wrap it around the biting point.

No exchange of words was needed. The silence around them almost seemed reassuring, peaceful, even.

"We cannot stay here."

That's how Shou broke the silence, as his voice sounded much more like a whisper, with an hint of worry and agitation.

"Before anyone else gets hurt - we have to go."

He paused, looking up to Qiran. They had closed their eyes, and had let their body fall upon Shou's. He immidately reacted, making sure they wouldn't fall on the ground, holding them by the sides of their torso.

Soon though, that transformed into an embrace. The two silently held onto eachother.

"Oh, darling...

How shall I ever repay you?"

He did not expect an answer, but he was given one.

"You did - you already did.

I would not trade this moment,

this memory,

for as long as I'm alive."

As an human, Neptune has long, black wavy hair, on his head's sides two long, thick strands, that stretch up until his chest.

His skin Is dark brown, with broze undertones. Of medium build, Neptune's not particularly muscular, however both his chest and hips are bigger than what you'd expect, making his body far more feminine.

His eyes are like the colour of Sea's sand, sometimes they even seem to glow. His hands are long and smooth, in contrast with his short but sharp nails.

As a cecaelia, his appereance changes quite a bit. His hair is replaced by tentacles, becoming far longer, reaching his feet. The tentacles almost look like spikes, though they aren't any softer than an octopus's.

His skin mutates, gaining a dark blue tint, the same going for the tentacles, though they're a bit darker. The tentacles are adorned by a bit of yellow, It glowing as well. Some bits of yellow are also on Neptune's skin, them looking like stars in the sky.

His eyes are now fully golden, without any pupil or sclera, them glowing with the tentacles's yellow. His body shape doesn't change, however his stature does, making him immense in confront to humans.

Personality;

If he could describe himself with a word, he'd probably use "charmer". In fact, that alone has helped him on multiple occasion. His presence alone allures people, as well as how he talks and entertains.

He can get cocky at times, though he remains composed with social situations. Behind closed doors however, if you were to be close with him, you'd see a whole other side, much more expressive and emotional.

He used to be the primordial god Nolir, more on that here since I've expanded on the myth already.

Although, one thing I didn't mention is that neither of the brothers have full memories; they are aware that they were a diety, but they only have fragments of those moments.

His brother Is Moor Morningstar, however neither of them know eachother. ((Yet))

His love language Is physical contact and words of affirmation. He will respect his partner's boundaries, however that won't stop him from cuddling or hugging his s/o from time to time. Let me preface by saying that yes, I've summarized everything I could, since I've had him for 5+ years and a LOT changed with time !!

I did a character info post a few years ago, and while its servicable today I wanted to add new stuff/expand on past concepts.

(And yes he's pretty tied to the dragon raja mobile game lore, but with a few tweaks he's applicable everywhere . My silly littlest guy .)

Background -

He's another orphan of Black Swan Bay, originally from South Italy.

His parents suddently disappeared when he was around 10, and through third party operations he was transferred there.

It was extremely hard to fit in, both due to the language barrier and to the different climate.

For the first years Kayn comunicated through body language and hand signs, though at the same time made the effort to learn the language.

(Speaking of which; he never became that fluent in russian, and while he IS better at english, he's not flawless by any means.)

Nevertheless, he endured, and started to get along with the kids there. A little goody two shoes, always eager to help, yet one of the clumsiest people you could ever find there.

Though he was young by all means, all the other children looked at him kind of like an older brother, someone to look up to as well as talk your heart out.

Time passes, and at 19 years the main draja plot starts, which Kayn mostly follows till the Tagamaghara part.

The only difference is that he always keeps an heart locket in his pocket, a small picture of some Kids playing in the snow, to remind himself of his second home.

Personality

He always looks for the best in people, convinced there's always a light in all of us. Kayn is the definition of an hopeless optimist, which granted gets him into a LOT of trouble, especially if said 'search for good' is in the middle of an ambush.

He's extremely stubborn, however. You can't change his mind if he's set on something, no matter how silly or insane It might sound.

Despite his age, he's still pretty gullible, though that doesn't mean he's slow by any means. He just..kind of forgets sometimes that people can manipulate. Or lie. Or just do batshit crazy stuff.

He tends to invade other's personal space, and is generally oblivious to that, unless it's pointed out. He's always physically close to the people he cares about, and he's rarely found alone.

Clothing style

Kayn likes to mostly wear warm tones, anything that is baggy and comfortable is his way to go.

He always has a pair of glasses on the top of his head, but he never seems to use them.

He has earrings!! Though he doesn't really customize them. He prefers to change between necklaces and face accessorizes, though.

Now, I originally wanted to write basically everything that happends to him, but since I am NOT writing about 33 ish minutes of an italian audio

(this is the proof . My bf Is a saint for actually listening to It),

I decided to briefly write about his relationships with the main cast.(as well as an abridged version with Ruri)

Relationships

Mingfei:

Didn't have the best impression of him, and was pretty annoyed of having to go back and forth for his sake.

Still, Kayn started to get along whenever they went out after college hours. As of now they're pretty buddy buddy with eachother.

Mingze:

He hasn't really met him so :(. Though being with a murderous gender ambigious guy doesn't really put him in the right to judge, even if he wanted to.

Zihang:

At first, he couldn't get through him, at all. Maybe Kayn's stupidly positive remarks got on his nerves, but he did always stay in the vicinity, even at night, so they found comfort in that.

Though they aren't extremely close by any means, they're cool about it.

Ceasar:

IMMIDIATELY bonded over the fact they were both from South Italy. Kayn really wants to like the guy, but sometimes he's an handful, even for him.

Nevertheless, they're pretty friendly, and might plan to come back home with the whole group.

Nono:

Apart from his first Cassel visit, he hasn't seen her much else. She does occasionally show up and they're amicable, but not much else.

Finger:

Mostly the same thing as Mingfei, though slightly closer since he has helped him into rewriting some gossip articles.

Anjou:

Doesn't really agree with all his plans, and sometimes does end up arguing hard with the guy, but he's pretty neutral about him. Granted Kayn Is grateful for the opportunity he was given, but he's still skeptical.

Zero:

Kayn was so confused and heartbroken so casually see her after all this time, and knowing she did not look for him. Despite that, after canon the two started to re-getting to know eachother better, and are on much better terms.

She sometime drops by, just to see how he's doing, and other times Kayn does the same. They might not be as close as they used to be, but they still care, and It shows.

Erii:

He doesn't see her often, but he enjoys playing videogames with her everytime he can.

He enjoys staying with her a lot, but doesn't want his feelings to interfer with her new life with her brothers, as broken or complex It may be.

Chisei:

It's complicated. Mostly negative, but understanding. Somewhat. They're pretty cordial, though.

Chime:

It's even MORE complicated.

(I never mentioned before but, since in Kayn's case/au/my rewrite nobody dies, I decided to separate Chime and Ruri at the end in two different bodies. Still , they are connected both in mind and in some aspects, even physically. So yeah, it's really weird, especially since Kayn started to get to know Ruri in Chime's body so...)

At least they're on good terms.

Osho/Herzog:

It's normal to feel anger, resentment, fear or sadness towards and individual like him, but even if in the end they had defeated him for good, a part of Kayn is still longing for him. They could have never talked It out over something as big as that, but a part of him wishes he's tried.

Does he feel emptiness? Or is this just grief? He doesn't know, but at least he won't put other people in the same situation as Kayn is in.

Ruri:

Well . Where to start.

Kayn first met him him at the Tagamaghara bar, whilst he was in Chime's body.

While Kayn admits that he might have taken a bit more private time with him (disguised as "it's to take more information out of him" time), they didn't end up in a romance.

As a matter of fact, they do get togheter a few months post canon, since the 'final battle' per se took a good toll on both of them.

As to why he specifically went after Ruri, Kayn doesn't really know.

Maybe in that broken mind he'd seen something, or he genuenly was so enamoured by him everything didn't matter, or perhaps Ruri's kindness towards him alone took him by surprise.

Despite all this, as the two got more and more close , they formed a pretty tight bond. It's the classic 'opposites attract' trope in a way, but It feels so personal for them.

In theory, Kayn is sort of like a legal guardian of Ruri (the only compromise he could get so his boyfriend wasn't executed on the spot LMAO).

Still, despite the extreme lows they've gone through, they came back better than before.

Also, to be perfectly clear Ruri did not tone down his character, moreso to limit it around people. As well as the killing yeah.

In conclusion; they're so cute togheter do NOT separate them.
