i watched this youtube video which explains one method of making the sliding doors work and this method is through the sense of heat which means when the sensors detect heat/ an increase in tempter (human body) the door open.
in terms of my room i personally don't feel that this would be the best approach given the colour of the exterior of my room being dark colours and the amount of windows in my room (as the entry and the moving wall) i feel that the heat of the body wouldn't be that easy to identify as the sun would come through the glass and would heat up the darker colours exterior.
i will continue my research to identify if there are any other methods that will work better for my needs.
