Pregnancy: Appointments

Sorry was busy for a while and didn’t have time to update the blog. Lots of things happening right now. Started my bi-weekly appointments from 32 weeks. 37 weeks

Had appointment this morning. Baby boo is measuring at 35 weeks. I'm 31 weeks and up until this point she had been right on track. So that's... interesting. So I get a growth ultrasound in 2 weeks. The funny thing is just prior to her getting my fundal height, I asked if a growth scan was a typical thing. She said no unless you're measuring off. Then I measured off. My PA also asked if I have been feeling pressure and I said very casually "Yup all the time by the end of the day. Lots" She seemed a bit concerned by that and said if I started feeling it when I laid down, then to call right away. I have no idea what is normal! Baby has always been head down and I've always carried low. What feels like real low lately. Which could be normal. Or not normal. I thought it was par for the course. Idk. Fuck. And then the extern nurse was using the doppler and couldn't find the heartbeat for like two minutes and was searching all high up and I was thinking "wut go lower what are you even doing" Her heart is under my belly button. Always. Ugh UGH I LOVE MY BB YOU STAY PUT FOR AWHILE YOU SQUISH BUN

33 weeks + 5

- What happened just there was WEIRD I put my hand firmy on my stomach (where her back is from what the Dr said yesterday) and I felt HER heartbeat !?? It's not hiccups, it's not my own blood flow, I calculated and it was around 140 bpm. Well, if that's me this is sort of creepy. And I would very unlikely feel her heartbeat through the womb... but I don't see what it could have been ? - A nurse have called me this morning to offer local resources, mainly a psychotherapist and parenting support groups. Let's hope they won't call me in 2016 (#free health care problems)... - Dr said her head is down, though she still moves a whole lot so, very not likely to stay in that position. That's encouraging anyway. - Everything else is good, but my fundal height is 3cm under average (30 cm at almost 33½ weeks). It was like that with Danaë too, always 2-3cm late at each and every appointment, but she's born almost 8lbs. Dr is not concerned but I'm worried anyway. - Still didn't have an emotional breakdown, although it's friday. I'm not as energetic as I've been in the last few days, but I've walked 2 hours on snowy/icy pavements + my 2-hour yoga class yesterday so : normal. - It's weird to stop and think that I might have only 4 weeks of pregnancy to go... I still take it as far away but 4 weeks is NOT far away ! We didn't prepare much yet, should start thinking about it ._. - Yoga teacher asks if my baby is more active when I am active or when I'm resting... ''Uh... she just... never stops moving. EVER''. How does she still have room to move so much ? OH YEAH, that's cause she doesn't give a shit about punching, squeezing and pushing my vital organs.

Fundal Height?

Can someone explain to me 'measuring ahead?' I was told (both by the midwives and in the pregnancy book they gave me) that it's normal to have your fundal height be within 2 or 3 centimeters of the number of weeks you are pregnant. Meaning, if you're 30 weeks you could be between 27 and 33cm and be on track. If someone was 30 weeks and says they're measuring 2 weeks ahead, does that mean she's 35cm or 32cm? If the latter, why is it 'ahead' if it's within the normal range?

Third trimester checkup

Just had our 34 weeks check up. My little man is measuring at 36! He is growing so big, I love it. The bigger he gets the more pronounced his movements are and it makes me feel so alive!!! Dr said he felt his head is engaged and his heartbeat is strong. Happy things are going so well. Just no more heartburn baby. This bland food is so boring.
