What kind of music do you think individually Stan and Ford would like? In their personal interest or what they would like to share with their s/o? Would they have some similar tastes from childhood that then they each found their own individual taste into teen/adulthood?
it has taken me forever to get back to this ask bc i really had to think about it (and then honestly forgot i’m SORRY but here we GO)
Stan: Growing up, he had a little affinity for classic country music. He’s absolutely the type to love cowboys, gunslingers, folks running around on the open plains (and not entirely knowing what it is they do bc he’s a young Jersey boy in the 60′s). Old 45′s of Patsy Cline and Hank Williams play constantly on the family record player. As he gets older, he gets into a punk rock groove. He calls the radio stations he likes most to request the best tunes. He does have an inkling of some embarrassing music, like 80′s pop girl groups, but all-in-all he’s a man who likes what he likes, and isn’t terribly embarrassed about anything. His SO finds out about his extensive music taste by going through his cassette tapes and (vintage) record collection.
Ford: As a kid, he enjoyed doo-wop and R&B. He never really grows out of it, but as he gets older he starts to enjoy more jazz and folks-y music. He had a stint in school where he tried to learn the clarinet, and (as in most things) was a wiz-kid with six fingers on one instrument! He slowly grew away from it as science and research became more and more prevalent in his life. In college when he befriends Fidds, he’s introduced to bluegrass and does genuinely enjoy it, despite all the banjo. He’s not really embarrassed of his music taste, but definitely hates when his SO finds the pictures of his old clarinet recitals (he looks so cute in a little tacky suit that’s almost too big for him!).
