The frontlens of the Canon fd 15mm is curved which makes it impossible to fit filters on the front. So with this particular lens Canon fitted it with four filters. The filters can be applied by turning the filterring. The standaard filter is the Sky filter. The other three filters, Y3, 01and R1, were used for black and white film. They are a Green, Orange and Red filters and give a certain contrast to your black and white pictures . But who is to say you can not use these filters with color photography.
