The world needs more LGBTQIA+ stories. Not just once a year in Pride season. Not just as side characters. Not just in trauma-filled scripts. We need more real, joyful, messy, complicated, powerful representation-created by us and for us.
I'm just one person. I'm not rich. I'm not famous.
But I'm a queer person who knows the power of seeing yourself reflected in a story-and I know I'm not alone.
The Idea:
What if every LGBTQIA+ person chipped in just $1 to fund the next wave of queer stories?
That small act-multiplied-could lead to massive change.
The Dream: I want to build a platform that funds and creates LGBTQIA+ media—from indie films and web series to books and podcasts.
The Backstory:
I'm a nobody. I come from an average life and not much more than that. I've been trying to figure out how to have some reach, help the community, but I honestly don't have the money, status, or support. I just have me, so I'm not really sure how this is going to pan out, but I have to start somewhere. Or at least try.
The Vision:
I want to create an income to produce short films and series with queer characters and creators.
I want to support LGBTQ+ writers, directors, and artists.
I want to build a team of queer creatives paid fairly for their work.
I want to create free or low-cost access to the finished work for LGBTQ+ communities everywhere.
Why Now?
We're still underrepresented in media. My first LGBTQ TV show was South of Nowhere, and that's where it all changed for me. We haven't come very far since then, and when we are represented, it's often through narrow, tired, or tokenizing lenses. That needs to change—and we can be the ones to change it.
This isn't just about content. It's about identity, visibility, belonging, and hope.
Let's Make Noise
This project isn't backed by a studio or a corporation—it's backed by us. Our community. Our stories. For transparency's sake, it is starting with me, so I don't know where this will go or what will happen.
I'll be sharing every step of the journey publicly—milestones, budgets, project progress—because this is our movement.
And if this campaign gains traction, maybe it'll catch the attention of LGBTQ+ celebrities, artists, and allies who can help us go even bigger.
The Plan:
• Donate $1 (or more if you can, share if you can't).
• Share this campaign with your friends, communities, and followers. We need heavy hitters with reach.
• Tag LGBTQ+ creators, actors, and influencers.
• Let's show the world that we want more—and we're ready to build it ourselves.
Let's tell our own stories.
Let's fund our own futures.
Let's make it happen—together.
This is the start.
