Creativity never stops
First two months of 2016 already passed by! Simone is now working a lot as voice artist. She is a professional narrator for audio books and also lends her voice to commercials, voice response, education and so on. Last year it was exactly 10 years ago (hip hip hurrayyy!) since Simone started to work professionally with her voice. One of her first project was a video game by Ubisoft. “I am very thankful to have this voice,” Simone says. As narrator Simone recently finished The White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter. Also she did Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and ‘The Eye of Minds’ by James Dashner. The latter you may remember of The Maze Runner Series, which were filmed. On the internet it says that there might be a movie adaption of ‘Red Queen’ too. Over the years Simone has developed herself as an ‘expert’ narrator for in particularly fantasy and sci-fi audio books.
November 2015 she performed as actress in a music video (still in production) for a Dutch female singer, who did her own version of ‘At last’ by Etta James. Filming took place in Simone’s hometown The Hague (NL), which is also where the Dutch government is seated and the International Court of Justice. “I caught a cold, I was sneezing and snivelling like crazy (sorry, make-up lady!), but as always, I had a wonderful time with the crew and my fellow actor. Nice energy all over..! Coincidentally..., or maybe not, I was after a long time again listening to songs of Etta James not long before the request came to join the team...”
Also this month Simone organized her 5th ‘Funky Simone Tea Party’, an event to connect the warm-hearted, energetic, enterprising people she knows. This time the event took place in hair salon Hair Topic in The Hague. Catering was excellently taken care of by Brady’s. Singer-songwriters Michael Highsand en Kenny performed.
