I feel like Betz would be a deep sea siren, while Spades would be a reef siren.

Spades watched in awe as the darkness around him shifted, the shadows of the deep cavern twisting around the massive siren in front of him. The siren had to be at least 10 ft long, if not more.
He took a moment to stare at the other siren. Its claws were longer and sharper than his, and instead of Spades’ fish-like fins it had battered and scarred shark fins—but even then he could see small portions where the fins were more ‘whispy’, closer to a beta fish if anything.
Spades’ gaze was quickly shot back up to the sirens face when he saw it move closer in his peripheral. It’s gaze never seemed to leave him.
Despite the small spike of fear he felt as it grew closer, Spades saw no malice in its eyes, no anger or aggression… simply calm curiosity.
He softened a bit at that.
Something so big, so terrifying, something that could easily kill him if it so chose… was merely curious.
Spades grinned and reached a webbed hand towards the larger siren, stopping partway. In response, the siren seemed to smile a bit as well, that calm curiosity turning friendlier as it let out a quiet trill and reached a clawed finger to gently poke the centre of Spades’s hand.
Oh Spades liked him already.
