i don't think katsu ever sees the crystal guardian again after he kills it. but he definitely thinks about it sometimes. it haunts him the same way it feels to think about a time where you were very very close to dying, but had no idea at the time. you weren't frightened in the moment. but now you know you really should have been

i've been playing around with the idea of him seeing This, this warehouse or museum or something, in his dreams every once in a while, and i think it's actually esteem that's sending him these dreams. it's not easy for him to communicate with katsu now that he's kind of just a trauma tulpa/force ghost/whatever, but since he's "in katsu's head" he can still send him dreams.

esteem starts sending them shortly after dawntrail, when katsu is starting to get himself involved in combat situations again, even though he really shouldn't be with his brain injury. esteem's entire thing is that he's there to slap some sense into katsu when he's being a pushover or too selfless, so he decides to remind katsu what could have happened to him last time he got himself too involved in "heroic" acts.
