Bunny Deco Sushi is a cute and creative twist on traditional sushi, perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your dining experience. These adorable sushi rolls are filled with your favorite ingredients and shaped into cute bunny faces, making them a fun and delightful dish for both kids and adults alike.
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 2 1/2 cups water. 1/2 cup rice vinegar. 2 tablespoons sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. Nori seaweed sheets. Assorted sushi fillings such as cucumber, avocado, crab sticks. Soy sauce, for dipping. Wasabi, for serving. Pickled ginger, for serving.
Instructions: Rinse the sushi rice in a fine mesh sieve until the water runs clear. In a rice cooker, combine the rinsed rice and water. Cook according to the rice cooker's instructions. In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar and salt are dissolved. Set aside to cool. Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture until well combined. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature. Place a sheet of nori seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top. Arrange your desired fillings in a line along the bottom edge of the rice. Roll up the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, sealing the edge with a little water. Using a sharp knife, slice the sushi roll into individual pieces. To create the bunny shape, cut a small triangle out of the top of each sushi piece to resemble ears. Then, use small pieces of nori seaweed to create eyes and a nose. Serve the bunny deco sushi with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
