CFDA JOHN BARTLETT, MARC BOUWER & THE HUMANE SOCIETY TALK FUR-FREE

Today, there are more alternatives to fur than ever. On Tuesday morning, the CFDA invited its members to a conversation on “The Move to Fur-Free,” hosted by the Humane Society of the United States. HSUS senior manager of fashion policy PJ Smith was joined by John Bartlett and Marc Bouwer as they discussed alternative furs with a group that included Ruthie Davis, Martin Cooper, Christopher Kunz, and executives from brands such as Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, John Varvatos, Prabal Gurung, Rosetta Getty, Isa Tapia, Adrienne Landau, and Eugenia Kim.

After pressuring Gucci to drop fur for over 20 years, PETA has learned that the company will be completely fur-free very soon!

It’s always great news to hear about brands going fur-free! Real fur clothing really has no place or value in our society. The cruel and tortuous ways the fur is obtained is not, nor ever was worth having a real fur garment. If you feel the same way you can pledge to have a fur-free wardrobe on PETA’s website here.
