One recurring theme in Where the Rivers Meet is that wishes don't create desires.

They reveal them.

A wish can't make someone want something that never mattered to them. It can't place something in your heart that wasn't already there.

At most, it strips away the excuses, fears, and distractions that kept you from recognizing those feelings in the first place.

Sometimes... a wish is less about changing a person and more about showing them who they already are.

Sometimes, it simply shines a light on what's already there and asks:

"Now that you've seen it, what are you going to do about it?"

I've always found that idea more interesting than wishes that simply grant whatever someone asks for.

As I'm reviewing a few chapters of my manuscript today, this song seems to somehow always wind up on my playlist. And every time I hear this song, I think about Rein and Biju.

Not soulmates.

Not destiny.

Not because of any specific scene, either.

Simply because of the feeling the song carries.

This song often makes me think about invisible connections. The kinds of threads that pull people toward each other long before they understand why.

Small, insignificant moments full of connections you can't fully see until you look back and realize they were there all along.

Two lives intertwined by dozens of invisible choices until they eventually meet.

That's always felt very WTRM to me.

Sometimes I wonder if there are people out there who feel something similar in their own lives, too...
