If I ever run dw I'm making shalka canon. I don't know how I'll do it but I'll do it!!!! (I'll probably say shalka is early one or something)

Oh, there's no way Shalka is early One. If we're going to place him in canon somewhere, it's certainly somewhere between Eight and Nine. Of course, now the inclusion of War changes things, making it somewhat more difficult to actually add Shalka in, since he was seemingly working under the orders of the Time Lords, and Nine seems to have been immediately post-Time War. If not for Night of the Doctor, it would still be possible to place him between Eight and War, but now that's been closed off as well. (This does not change my determination to include him, anyway. He just happened.)

So I keep trying to get into homestuck. But I keep getting bored. I am about 20 pages in on act 3, I really enjoyed the can mayor of act two but now I'm bored again, how long before this becomes so good I can't stop talking about it?

Alright, first of all, you’re already a greater person than I am. I love Homestuck, believe me I do, but I could not read it for the life of me. The first act put me to sleep and reading through all of the chat logs from that point on was just tedious. So, I found an alternate solution. There is a wonderful group of people on Youtube using the channel CoLabHQ  who basically do a Let’s Read of the Homestuck comics. They have various voice actors for each of the characters and everyone involved in their cast does a fantastic job. If I remember correctly, they are currently in the process of ‘dubbing’ Act 5 Part 2. Personally, I’m grateful for all that they do. The cast makes listening to the dialogue interesting, and if nothing else, you’re able to attend to other things while you listen so you don’t have to focus on constantly scrolling or going to the next page of the comic. Keep in mind, Homestuck isn’t for everyone, just like any other fandom. There’s nothing wrong with figuring out the comic isn’t not for you. I do recommend that you give CoLabHQ a chance, though it may be a tad difficult to pinpoint exactly where your currently place in the comic corresponds to their videos.
