considering his choice in profession? it’s all very doubtful. fugo already keeps his small world closely guarded “you better hope that by the time i die i meet someone else to add to the party or the four of ya’ll aren’t going to be too happy with the crowd”

fugo has a few preliminary concerns before he gives an insightful answer. it might seem selfish in context but considering mista....fugo’s worries are applicable. “does it have anything to do with me?” and he’s not looking to be guilty by association. “...and regarding the consequences...will i be in anyway involved?”

ㅤ ㅤ Reimi had been watching him for some time. Not because she had any specific interest — but because he was a new face among the residents of Morioh. Living so many years in the alley with anyone besides Arnold was painful, since a sociable person like her needed to be surrounded by people. The most the girl could do was go to the entrance of the place, the limit between the alley and the sidewalk, and simply watch life passing by. The hope that someday someone would notice her presence was strong at first, but as time went by it became just an eventuality, her hope became a distant dream.

ㅤ ㅤ That’s how she met Mista. Of course, she didn’t know his name at that time, but his face caught her attention when she realized that he came there every day, at the same time. The Owson Convenience Store’s new employee, as she later deduced. Soon he became part of the group of people to whom she silently followed the routine, having fun making a series of deductions that had a few evidence to say the least. Who would have thought that some time later he would become one of the people who could see her. His good fortune could be unbelievable, worthy of envy, but at least once Lady Luck smiled at Reimi.

ㅤ ㅤ He was smarter than she would ever be. Ability to protect himself and others was not lacking, and she admired him for that. Not just because of Sex Pistols (although she loved them, how could such small creatures have so much personality?) but for what he was as a human being. Soon those words made her heart feel warm, a sweet smile appearing when she knew she had someone valuable to count on. ❝ I know, and it makes me feel safe. ❞ Reimi wanted to do the same for him. Unable to be out there (for now) she hoped that when her emancipation came she would reward all those who were willing to help her so courageously. ❝ As strong as I can be, I have your back too. ❞ One day she would show the value of her promise — and maybe that day was closer than they imagined.

   With slow, careful steps, he manages to stay steady on the frozen Lake of the Koi. It’s worth it to see the ‘show’ they’re putting on below the ice’s surface --- the icy sheen adds a sort of elegance to it, and it’s simply beautiful seeing all different colors dance in tune with the lake water. The koi themselves might be his favorite part, though. It’s still fascinating to see how big they are, and they look especially nice among all the colorful lights. 

Gonta watches as one of the fish comes up close to surface, right beneath someone standing nearby him. It can’t escape, of course, but it seems content there just below the ice, releasing little air bubbles that seem to disappear beneath the stranger’s feet.

“I think that one likes you,” Gonta says to them, pointing at the koi in indication.

          “It’s good to see you.” Giorno admits with an open ease that probably wouldn’t have been there months prior. But, he is coming into himself and his relationships better, and seeing Mista after so long is more than a little emboldening. “I would offer you a tour, but the city has decided to do something new and best to pay attention when that happens.” A warning and explanation all in one—Giorno takes a sip from his hot chocolate and considers the best course of action. Everything seems calm, for now, enough that he doesn’t want to accidentally ruin it when it isn’t necessary to do so. “This happens frequently enough, so it’s nice to enjoy everything while it’s still around.”
