Leaning against the weapons bench Kaidan crossed his arms on his chest, wondering just how their mission would go. It’d be a new partner to work with and he’d have to remember to mention to the Council he knew her from before. “L2s are what they are, I might be one of the last ones having them. As for the migraines after a few decades you get used to them. But hey, at least I was able to teach myself how to reave a while back.” According to Doctor T’Soni that shouldn’t be possible in the first place but his biotics had become more powerful throughout the years. “Can’t say I wouldn’t prefer an upgrade but considering my age I’m not going to risk it.” And considering Alliance was happy with him as he was after the brain camp incident they wouldn’t risk their investment.
“You too huh? No rest for the wicked. I thought I could have one week or weekend at my family’s cabin but instead I’m here.” There was a point where you’d worked so long not working felt strange but at least they wouldn’t need to fight anyone or at least Kaidan hoped so. “That’s the gist of it. We set up communication channel pylons, find good spots for field hospitals and camps for survivors, we only tag the most critical cases for rescue. Alliance only has so much space for survivors and the Council is hoping to fix the Citadel and get it back in business.” It would be a long process and whether there’d be people to live there after all this was still a mystery.
“And I’m teaming up with you to evaluate you. The Council granted an opening for another Spectre position for humans and Hackett recommended you.” Council seemed to favor biotics for the position, probably since they were still practically led by the Asari Councilor and the Asari remained strong. “The Council won’t be assembled for a while now, every Councilor's and Spectre’s priority is their own species and humans only have me with Shepard gone. So they’re looking at you, Shortcake.”.
