Happy International Womenās Day to all of the gorgeous, inspiring, amazing women in my life and all around the world. My own relationship to womanhood has always been complicated, but Iāve embraced it a bit more lately, partly because I am doing a project about women and it is empowering to be a strong female role model for my peers, students and audiences. (My pronouns are still they/them, though!) I regret that my illness today kept me from celebrating Womenās Day with my castmates at @ovate_company but I am so excited to bring this show to life for all of you. What I ultimately hope for is that women around the world can adopt our show into a piece that reflects their personal experiences - it would be such a joy to see a LGBT theatre pick it up and highlight queer and trans womenās stories, or a Black-owned theatre company talking about their stories, and the list goes on and on. Happy Womenās Day, everyone! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø #internationalwomensday #upliftwomen #empowerwomen #furyus #thefuryusproject https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpj1XS6OqAB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
