⚡COMING TO KICKSTARTER IN 2027⚡ 📜Lockettopia: The Trojan War Cycle📜

Paris, urged by Aphrodite and accompanied by her son Aeneas, sails for Lacedaemon (sparta) where the Trojans are welcomed with gracious xenia by King Menelaus and Queen Helen. They feast at court for nine days until Menelaus departs for Crete and Helen's brothers ride out raiding, leaving Paris alone with the queen. Aphrodite fans the flames in Helen's heart, the pair come together in secret, and in the dead of night Helen boards Paris' ship with her handmaid Aethra and Menelaus' stolen wealth, abandoning her daughter Hermione as the fleet departs for Troy. Hera sends a storm that drives them to Sidon, which Paris sacks before sailing home to Troy laden with riches, where a lavish royal wedding is held and Helen is welcomed into the royal family, while Cassandra's warnings of danger, as always, go unheeded.

🏛️ Athens, 514 BC.

The city stands at the height of its cultural awakening. Philosophers debate the future of the polis, poets celebrate beauty and freedom, and athletes train beneath the marble temples overlooking the city.

Trade, art and political ambition have transformed Athens into one of the most influential cities of the Greek world.

Yet beneath this flourishing surface, tensions continue to grow.

⚖️ Athens is ruled by the Peisistratid tyranny, established decades earlier by Peisistratos and continued by his sons Hippias and Hipparchos. Their rule brought stability, monumental building projects and economic prosperity — but many Athenians increasingly feared the growing concentration of power in the hands of a single ruling family.

It is within this world that Harmodios and Aristogeiton emerge.

Remembered by later generations as the legendary Tyrannicides of Athens, the two men would become symbols of resistance, political courage and the struggle against tyranny itself.

But before they became legends, they were companions.

🍷 This first chapter does not yet tell the story of assassination and revolution.

Instead, it explores the world before the crisis: the gymnasia, symposia and intimate spaces of Athenian life; the ideals of freedom, beauty and companionship that shaped the elite culture of the city; and the growing unease surrounding the rule of Hippias and Hipparchos.

At its heart, this is a story about youth, friendship and political awakening — set against the final years before one of the decisive turning points in Athenian history.

🔥 The shadow of tyranny is already falling over Athens.

But the city does not yet know how much will soon change.

When King Peleus discovers his sea nymph wife Thetis secretly laying their infant son in a magic fire to burn away his mortal half, he intervenes, and the furious Thetis abandons husband and child, retreating to the sea. A young boy named Patroclus arrives at Peleus's court after accidentally killing a companion in a game of knucklebones, and the two boys become inseparable brothers in all but blood. Recognizing that his son carries a divine legacy to uphold, Peleus delivers both boys into the hands of the centaur Chiron on Mount Pelion, the great mentor who raised Heracles, Jason, and Asclepius before them. Under Chiron, the boy is renamed Achilles and raised on the meat of lions and bears, trained in strategy, medicine, and combat, forging one of the greatest warriors the Greek world has ever known.

Hermes leads Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite to Mount Ida, where the stunned Trojan prince Paris is ordered by Zeus to judge which of them is the fairest. Each goddess steps forward with a tempting bribe: Hera offers supreme kingship and boundless wealth, while Athena promises unmatched bravery and excellence in battle and craft, but it is Aphrodite who wins Paris over by offering him the most beautiful woman in all of Hellas, Helen, as his prize. Unable to deny his own nature as a man who prizes beauty above all things, Paris awards the golden apple to Aphrodite. Athena and Hera depart in bitter fury, vowing that Paris and his city of Troy are now their enemies, a vow that will prove tragic for his people.

Next week Ill Begin the First chapter and the first literary source for the Trojan war Cycle; Ch1: THE CYPRIA. The Cypria recounts the events leading up to the Trojan War, beginning with the judgment of Paris and the abduction of Helen, which sparks the conflict between the Greeks and Trojans. It then follows the gathering of the Greek forces under Agamemnon and their early misadventures on the way to Troy, setting the stage for the events of the Iliad.

Lots of Cyclopian and Homeric content on the horizon. Stay tuned!
