I've drawn two people interacting in a COMPLETELY friendly way and multiple times people have assumed they're ships. I got a comment "isn't one of them a kid??"one time so... I find it a tad annoying when people assume every interaction is a ship. Obviously it's great that LGBT+ people are able to express themselves and find comfort in their sexualities, but the culture of everything being romantic is lowkey reminiscent of when middleschoolers see a boy and girl sitting next to eachother.

oh yeah, I completely forgot about that, I totally get the frustration with that.

I'm afraid of the same thing happening to me too, sometimes I just wanna draw a young character with an older character I view as their parental figure, or just siblings genuinely enjoying each other's company, but there's always that small group of people who assume intimacy is always romantic, and then I get paranoid about accusations being thrown my way orz

In that case, yes, I absolutely wish intimacy in a non-romantic context was WAAAAY more normalized in fandom spaces, DEFINITELY.
