Nice find on the way the buster sword is facing on Cl and Z back. Perhaps Z has it that way so when he draws it naturally allows him to use the blunt side of the sword? Z does want to avoid cutting and using the sword as much as possible. When he faces the shinra army, before he charges the army, you can see Z flip it from the blunt to cutting side with his right hand. C uses the sharp side all game, and roughly uses it cutting objects and buildings and all sorts of solids lol what u think?
Yeah, I was thrown for a sec, but it's because Zack only uses the blunt side, so sheaths it that way. Still an alt timeline because of the crisp packet, but it's an interesting character quirk that Cloud has no reservations about using the sword properly. He's abusing tf out of it, so hopefully he'll either clean it up or swap to the fusion blade.

I'm just hoping they will show cloud use fusion sword in remake, or at least how he get the idea to build the sword. I mean it's hella cool in ACC!
