Random 40K/Pulp Questions
Not that anyone is going to respond, but some random questions for the Pulp Primarchs project, that I would like some answers too if someone is willing to provide 'em.
-The Ordo Malleus has the Gray Knights. The Ordo Xenos has the Deathwatch. The Ordo Hereticus...sometimes borrows Sisters of Battle. These are not the same. It occurs to me, however, that my set-up of the Knights of Darkness (The Shadow's Astartes) could mean that they could serve that role? Not sure it makes sense, though.
-Yo, to what extent did SMs from different Legions interact during the Great Crusade, and do so now? Is any of said interaction social, insofar as SMs have social interaction? Because I have Tars Tarkas having been John Carters right-hands guy then and leading the Warlord's Swords (John Carter's Astartes) into the Era Indomitus, which means he and Bjorn Fell-Handed are of the same vintage, and I wonder if it would make sense for them to know each other? of course, Bjorn's a Dreadnought and AIUI, hates it, and Tars Tarkas is just unaging, so.
-Speaking of Tars Tarkas, he started out at 15 feet tall, grew upon becoming an Astartes, and then grew even more upon crossing the Rubicon Primaris. I'm not entirely sure how tall he should be?
-Also speaking of Tars Tarkas, between his height, the extra limbs, and the different shaped head with the tusks and whatnot...would he able to wear Power Armor? Like, they'd have to make it custom for him, and can they do that?
-So, hey, obviously, he and his non-enhanced brethren would remind people of the Orks, but would they provoke an uncanny valley response from the Orks? Or would they not notice, because to them being big, green, and tusked is normal, so they'd look at them as being no more orklike than humans see Eldar as humanlike?
-So I spent some time trying to decide whether the Bronze Brothers (Doc Savage's Astartes) ought to be based on Doc or on his Assistants, and eventually settle on the former, but then what do with the latter? You can't NOT have them.
-Speaking of the Bronze Brothers, I do need to come up with an excuse for how the Mechanicus puts up with them, but I've got nothing.
-Things I would like to do going forward:
Flesh out the five Pulp Primarch chapters in general, by either inserting them into canon events or inventing new ones for them to be part, figuring out their organization structures, coming up with characters, iconography, etc.
Figuring out how they fit into the history of the setting, and why their being five additional Loyal Primarchs didn't change the outcome of the Horus Heresy
Speaking of, flesh out the Pulp Primarchs; convert their histories and personalities into 40K form, work on their relationships with the other Primarchs, what happened to them, etc.
Work on their relationships with other factions
Work on Successor Chapters?
Do stuff with other Pulp Heroes. Not necessarily as Primarchs! There is logic in some of them fitting into other factions, yeah? The Avenger or The Spider as Inquisitors, say?
Though obviously, some wouldn't work. For instance, Silver John just can't exist, he's thematically completely opposed to the themes of the setting. it would, on the surface feel like a no-brainer for Solomon Kane to be an Inquistor, since they draw on the Witchhunter archetype that tends to be visually based on him, and his character arc of learning to accept magical help is, AIUI similar to the basic arc of many Inqusitors except again, thematically that's the exact opposite, since his doing so is him becoming a better person.
