Picture That | Tonnie (~future~)
Well, well, well. Where had the time gone? One minute, Annie was arguing with Tom over baby names, and the next, said baby was off to prom!
JT (well, Tom liked to call him JP, but Annie thought JT had a better ring to it, like Justin Timberlake or James Taylor) was at Tom’s today, but Annie was not going to let him go off to prom without getting a few pictures in (and making sure his hair looked okay-- really, Annie and Tom had figured out how to make things work over the years, but Annie still did not trust him to know these things. Men just didn’t. That was how it was). For that reason, she had brought Harlynne along, freshly returned for the summer from her sophomore year at Vanderbilt.
“I’m heeeere!” Annie announced, intercepting her son just as he stepped out of the front door to pull him into a hug. Harlynne, who knew the drill, snapped a few candid photos on her iPhone 20. “Look at you, handsome!” She stepped back to examine him, then straighten his boutonniere. “And you look gorgeous as always, Opal.”
Annie smiled. JT was kind of a weird kid. She could understand why he liked Opal. As long as there was nothing serious going on. Annie thought JT could do a lot better. What? She was protective of her baby!
She glanced around and saw she was kind of making a scene. Oops. “Hi Tom,” Annie said, once she caught his eye. “Nice pre-game party. Glad I caught y’all before you headed out.”
