Tips on how to manage time for architecture students
Being an architecture student is exciting especially if you love buildings, designing, and sketching but it can also be overwhelming. With plates, drafting, scale models, research and presentations all happening at once, time often feels too short. Unlike other courses, architecture requires both creativity and technicality, which can take many hours to finish. Because of this, good time management is one of the most important skills every architecture student should develop, so here are the tips that you guys need to do to manage your time.
First is to use a planner, write all the deadlines, classes, consultations, and submission dates. Seeing your schedule clearly helps you avoid forgetting tasks. You can use notebook planner or apps like google calendar.
Second is always prioritize the important task, not all tasks are equally urgent. Finish major plates, design projects, and deadlines first before smaller assignments. Ask yourself: What needs to be done now? or you can just check your planner.
Third would be avoid procrastination, a lot of students delay their tasks because they think they have enough time. In architecture, rushing or cramming at the last minute often leads to poor output. Start early so you have time to revise and improve your design.
The fourth one are probably to set a daily goal, create a simple to do list each day. Example:
if it is a simple floorplan, finishing it within 1-2 days would be enough.
then the other day is buying a model material.
next day probably to revise all your plates like perspective.
Fifth is to limit distractions like social media, games, and unnecessary scrolling can waste hours. When you are working with your plates always keep your phone away or silent mode it to focus on your work.
And lastly is to balance the work and life, architecture school is demanding, so taking break is also important. Spend time with your family, friends, and hobbies or passion to avoid burnout. And don't forget GOD, prayers make the dream work.
Time management is one of the keys to survive and succeed in architecture life. By planning ahead, staying disciplined, and balancing work and rest, architecture students can reduce stress and produce better outputs. Remember, success is not only about talent it is also about managing your time wisely because you can adopt it when you are already working as an architect.
IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN'T DO IT, ALWAYS REMEMBER THOSE WHO ARE ROOTING FOR YOUR SUCCESS, AND THOSE WHO VALUE AND LOVE YOU NO MATTER WHAT! KEEP FIGHTING FUTURE ARCHITECTS!! 🥰💕

I will express my potential to begin the achievement of perfection.
bought this really cool architecture case-study book at an architecture museum in Frankfurt and it’s making me so psyched to be an architect one day, hearing the way architects talk about their designs makes me so hopeful and happy
