And have you always known that you wanted to teach? Because sometimes I think that being a teacher would be cool, but some of the teachers at my school are so bad and I'd hate to turn out to be a bad teacher...
Well, I come from a long line of teachers. My mother was an english teacher a, then a sunday school teacher, and is now a stage manager in professional theatre (which uses many of the same skills as an elementary school teacher). My grandfather was also a teacher. I've got several teachers in my family, including my older sisters, one of whom has just received her Masters' in education. I'd always considered it as a possibility, but I only knew it was something I wanted to do as I got older and started working with my fellow students to figure out our classes. Honestly, though, you'll figure out real quick if you're a bad teacher. I've only been in front of a classroom full of honest-to-god students once, but I was totally in my element. You'll know in plenty of time whether or not you're good at it.
