You are probably getting reading for graduation, planning for the next step in higher education and trying to figure out what the Preliminary Award letter means to you.

To help understand the award letter, the Office of Financial Aid created this quick video explaining what everything means.

However, if you feel you need to speak with someone in person or on the phones, please feel free to give us a call or stop by without an appointment to Carter Hall.

Planning on visiting the UNC campus? There are many options for you to choose from. Click the link to what best fits you to get registered and more information. Below is an overview of options available for you to visit UNC!

Listed below are some available options:

Daily Tours: There are daily tours available for you! This tour is a half-hour Informational session and a 90-minute student-led campus tour. 

Tours en Español: Va a ver una  sesión de 30 minutos sobre información de la Universidad y luego seguido por un excursión alrededor de la Universidad.

Discover UNC: This is a full day event where you get to learn all about UNC. Such as the programs and majors available, the residence halls, the dining halls and much more!

Tour and Performance: You can have a tour of the UNC campus and also experience the performing arts program that will be performing The Crucible. You will have a UNC Informational session with a campus tour and a meal plan at no charge. This tour and performance is available the following date:

Program- Specific Visits: If you would like a tour specifically on a program such as the following:

                            - Monfort College of Business                             - College of Humanities and Social Sciences Spotlight                             - Nursing Spotlight                             - Honors Spotlight

Financial Aid Nights: Denver: You will have the opportunity to learn about UNC as well as understand financial aid and its process. There will be an admission staff and financial aid counselors to answer all of your questions.

UNC Coming to You: UNC may also be coming to you. You will be able to meet the UNC admissions staff and future bears. You will learn ways on how to get involved on campus, housing and dining contract and much more!

Residence Hall Tours: Get a sample of the UNC residence halls by getting to step into the rooms! These tours do not require advances registration and guests are welcome to participate.

Group Tours: High school and community college students or groups of 10 can register for a visit to UNC. You will be able to request time, lunch options, and specific facilities.

Transfer Thursday: Are you a potential transfer student? Every Thursday there is an informational on UNC, admissions and transfer process and a campus tour.

Transfer Talk & Tour: A half-day UNC Visit experience just for potential transfer students: This is a half-day session where there will be an informational session and a tour of the campus. You will also receive a lunch at one of the UNC’s dining halls!

Trying to find a way to stay active and healthy? Or do you want to just play your favorite sport? Stop by the UNC Campus Recreation Center! We offer Group Fitness Classes, Personal Training, Message Therapy, Nutrition, and Wellness. There are still many things to do, like sign up for intramural sports, go for a swim, or just get a good workout for the day!

Some drop-In activities include:

UNC BEAR PANTRY

The Bear Pantry has a new location! It has moved from Decker Hall to Michener L15!

The UNC Bear Pantry is open to all UNC students! You can receive up to 5 non-perishable, frozen, or toiletry items/ twice a week. The Bear pantry is there to help students who may be experiencing hunger and are struggling to buy food.

The Bear Pantry is there to help alleviate students who often struggle to support themselves while working, attending classes, and dealing with other life issues, by providing them with food supply. This way the Bear Pantry hopes to minimize food insecurity so UNC students can work toward completing their education.  

Their hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. If you would like more information click here.

DREAMer Engagement Program (DEP)  2017-2018

A DREAMer is a person who:

Is undocumented (has no papers or legal residency or citizenship status in the U.S.)

Has DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)

Is utilizing ASSET (Advancing Students for a Stronger Economy Tomorrow) to be coded as an in-state resident for tuition purposes.

The DREAMer Engagement Program is a year long program that has been coordinated specifically for DREAMers during their first year at UNC. In this program, students will have the opportunity to meet other DREAMers; They are assigned a mentor (a previous DEP student) to help guide their first year experience. Students also have DEP advisors that will help them learn about campus events, receive support and resources, meet supportive faculty and staff, and help build a positive and supportive network of people to make their journey at UNC a fulfilling experience! DREAMers also attend a two day orientation to help expose first year students to campus life before they start school.
