N°1 - futuremag selects
The first edition of futuremag’s fortnightly ‘Selects’ playlist is full of exciting tunes coming from all over the globe. We’re covering every talented artist from Europe to the United States and all the way over to Australia with worldwide sensations to exposing brilliant acts of lesser-known and upcoming producers.
Stay tuned and have a good time with this playlist!
-
1. Lowself - The High Life: Lowself starts off the set with a chill upbeat tune with hints of hip-hop, future and chill wave. A very comforting piece from the Belgium based artist.
2. Pham – Movements feat. Yung Fusion (Delusion Remix): The original collaboration between Pham and Yung Fusion made your soul dance but this rendition by Delusion revamped the hip-hop classic into a delightful future bass and chill vibes tune.
3. Throttle x Earth, Wind & Fire - September: Our love for September - even though it left us 2 months ago, is reignited by Throttle and Earth, Wind & Fire with their funky, upbeat tune.
4. SAINT WKND feat. INGLSH – Lost (Runaway) (Fabich Remix): The grooving soundscape of Fabich’s remix of Lost (Runaway) resembles a deep house influence of musical powerhouse, Kaskade.
5. Niko The Kid – Slip Away: Slip Away is a fantastic song with the unique ability to capture and retain the listener’s attention. The irony of this is that we didn’t let such a wonderful piece of art “slip away” from us (play on words intended).
6. Autograf – Metaphysical (Kilter Remix): This stellar remix focuses on all the amazing aspects of the original and enhances them two fold! Kilter definitely “left his autograf”. #LeaveYourAutograf
7. Flying Lotus – Puppet Talk (weird inside Remix): This remix oozes with chill, from the gentle intro, to the synth build and back down to the subtle fade. This is a constant theme by weird inside and we love it!
8. Suken – Japan Night Suken is back with another funk heavy tune; hints of a disco influence are noticeable that give a comforting 80’s to early 90’s persona. It’s hard to resist the urge to pull out the shoulder pads and mirror ball and dance.
9. Mindsight x Flume – Intermission (w/ On Top): “All that I want in this life is the chance to do my thing…” This is exactly what Mindsight has done! You can hear the care and time that this new producer on the block has taken in creating his first release.
10. Zedd Feat. Troye Sivan – Papercut (Grey Remix): Zedd being a musical powerhouse produced a fantastic tune, but the technical manipulation by Grey has transitioned the song into something special and unique!
11. Dillon Francis & Calvin Harris – What’s Your Name (Samburg Remix): “What’s Your Name” has the foundations of a 'club banger' and it’s a remarkable feat to make such a tune into a fantastic future remix! Samburg’s stunning reinvention of this banger to suit the future music scene display’s this producer’s skill and ability for adaptation.
12. Enschway & Kuren – Taking Hold: This new addition to Enschway’s and Kuren's arsenal of hot beats is “Taking Hold” of audiences all around the globe. The recent support by Diplo and the release via the Daruma Record Label has helped with outlandish growth of this production by the two artists.
13. Geotheory - Leanin': Geotheory is back with another filthy piece of music. With "Leanin'" he combines his fast driving drumbeats with his casual chill and progressive sound.
14. Angelz - Hey Girl: With the first release on the new Confession imprint curated by the Future House legend Tchami, Angelz clarifies the quality of his newest release "Hey Girl". The floating vibes provided by this catchy bassline in this one are real.
15. Amtrac - Lover: Amtrac recently cannot disappoint in our eyes and keeps up the energy and the wide range of his recent releases with "Lover". This houesy and almost funky tune is part of Kitsune's Hot Stream compilation.
16. Deficio – Slickery: A smooth yet jarring upbeat dance tune leaves you wanting to re-listen, as the collision of ambience and dance erupts in your ears! A very interesting and technical track by the Swede.
17. Losi - My Friend: As being a part of the Bitbird Family already certifies your talent & productions, Losi is a special case for us here. With recent releases on several Daruma compilations beside Bitbird. "My Friend" is quite an atmospheric, yet emotional track with a lot of calm breaks and ambient sounds in controverse to the powerful, overwhelming but also beautiful climaxes.
18. San Holo ft. The Nicholas - Can't Forget You: We awaited “Can’t Forget You” since Sander previewed it in his ‘The Trip [Epsiode 5]′ for the first time. The amazing vocals by The Nicholas are giving this production the final touch for a deserved Spinnin’ Records release.
19. Vague – Alone: Vague rounds off the first futuremag 'select' with “Alone”, a sombre soundscape complemented by a choppy synth choir. A lovely way to wrap up our first playlist!
