"around 1986. Thick and expressive fuzz, loves P90’s and Fender pickups. Found it in the trash."
"From what it's looking like now, the most probable timeline is AUL Fuzz > AUL Foxey Lady > Mosrite Foxey Lady > EHX Foxey Lady. The inside of your pedal should essentially be the guts of a Mosrite Fuzzrite, not a typical Foxey Lady.
And while it predates the Big Muff, the circuit has basically no relation to the Big Muff, and they were both designed by two different people ...
I really believe the AUL fuzz existed before Guild got involved, and then after they did you start seeing the ones with the "Foxey Lady" logo. Also the Mosrite version is basically a silicon Fuzzrite, but in 1967 Mosrite was still making germanium Fuzzrites, and the Sprague modules didn't show up until even later. ...
my theory is that they were unable to keep up with demand in the AUL days, so Guild hired Mosrite for a run of Foxeys. And for whatever reason (cost of shipping, Mosrite heading for bankruptcy) Guild went back to Matthews who now had EHX and more of a capacity to fulfill orders at the numbers they needed" - Ed Skymall
