Part 2. Relationship Affirmations. These are the comments to the video I posted in part of Relationship Affirmations. "If only this generation was that genuine.smh". How unfortunate is it that this is automatically what we default to thinking when seeing a couple motivate each other in such a positive way. Why can't this type of talk be a norm for our generation? This type of healthy encouragement is a stigma to our generation. People rather see toxic relationships spread everywhere. They tune in every week to watch the drama unfold between Tara, Amina and Peter Gunz on Love and Hip Hop. Its more reassuring to settle because your comfortable. Fear hold us back from letting go from a situation that is not uplifting to our spirit and emotional state. We invested all this time and don't want to start over with someone new. So we watch shows like this to numb the part of us that hopes for better, because there are people on TV who are going through worse. How many of us can relate to proving to another woman how much your man loves you? I been there young and naive. Now being older I know better. That is my mans job. It doesn't stop with TV, what happened to music talking about love. Diddys I need a girl type of music. Nope! Now and days its hoes this side chicks that, the Cant Raise a Man type songs. We all love them, but are you really hearing the message thats being programmed in your head. This is the norm for our generation. The stigma is healthy love like the couple in the video, people cant believe love like that exists because of everything around us. FvckLoveStigmas. Thats the kind of love I want and will only allow into my life. I want to uplift my man not break him down and let our relationship set a new standard for this societies crazy idea of love. Love is an amazing feeling. Its not lies betrayal pain and infidelity. That needs to be stigmatized.
