“They didn’t tell me I’d get to meet royalty.” It slips out as smoothly as the glimpse of a grin glides over her face. It’s not particularly friendly, but that isn’t entirely accidental – he was not part of the council that debated her future here, and it is rather hard to fail to recognize the face of one of the more surprising visible traitors to the Empire, so all in all she’s not too concerned.

They could start a club, if there were more of them. Her treachery isn’t guaranteed to be blasted out to the Galaxy, not like his or what little is left of his planet – some bits and pieces raining down on the surrounding systems – but still, they’re all traitors here, and she’s a little surprised that he made it out alive.
