This doesn’t only apply to canons, but they’re usually the ones with clearly written out endings so I’m going to use this opinion for this one; We HAVVVEEEEE to stop killing off traumatized characters who are dangerously close to happy endings. It’s devastating for no reason and serves no type of purpose other than shock value and, I don’t really know how to word this, but makes it seem like people in terrible situations never get out of them and it’s just forever and always terrible for them when that isn’t the case sometimes??? And no, this doesn’t apply to me and my muses but everyone else 💜.

      this is not the kind of FRIDAY NIGHT she’d foreseen at the start of the week —— but dammit, it’s NICE. a cheeseburger’s in her hands, half spilled over and out of its buns; on the other side of her, a WOMAN she hasn’t quite figured out yet ( perhaps never will ) but she suspects holds secrets and stories the likes of which freddie might never find in the novels she so desperately adores. she wants to ask SO MANY THINGS of sky. first —— how come she’d decided to stick around, eat a bite with her. second —— where exactly does she come from? she’s been around criminals long enough: she can pick up most of the signs. third —— would she mind telling her a story or two, just something that might take her out of the gloom of her own life - share somebody else’s pain and ignore her own ? 

        she opens her mouth to speak, make up an off-handed joke about them being stranded in the middle of a godforsaken nowhere, where a food struck’s the only SHELTER one might find in a time like this — but the second she does she sees her push closer and freddie RECOILS, a sudden shiver running down her spine, pulse QUICKENING anytime a hand comes too quickly, too close to her personal space. but sky only brushes a smudge of food off her cheek, and then freddie’s BLUSHING in embarrassment — “ shit. sorry about that ”. a nervous laugh, as she wipes her mouth with a napkin and leaves the last bite of burger in its tray. “ guess i’ve been a little on edge, lately ”.

          The small diner was quiet besides the occasional sound of dishes clanking together, something sizzling on the grill, and the mug of her coffee cup hitting the table every once in a while. It was late at night and even for a busy city like the one they were in right now mostly everyone was asleep, but she was up. Sitting across the table from Bee as she allowed him to spill out his late night thoughts to her. Meeting outside of office hours or even outside of her office with patients was something she didn’t do often. Matter of fact, she never really did it at all but for him she had made an exception. Whether it was the troubling past, daddy issues, or trouble with themselves they just seemed to relate in a way that Cornelia really couldn’t with the rest of her clients. That’s why when those words were spoken from his lips she couldn’t help but let a genuine smile break on to her. Reaching over slightly her hand pins his and she rested it on top, gently caressing it as a sign of assurance and comfort. “You have no idea how much those words mean to me.” Not only as a therapist, showing the progress he had been making with her, but also as someone who’s truly concerned for him as a friend. “And I can promise you that I’ll never do anything to make you question that trust you have for me.”

He had an hour to get home. If he didn’t, well... he wasn’t entire sure what would happen, he just knew he didn’t want to test the obsessed cult leader who’d been trailing him and his siblings for the better part of two years.

Get home, get home... the mantra repeated itself in Nevada’s head so many times that it no longer represented a pair of words but a blended sound of desperation whispered like a prayer.

Instead of driving home however, his body had -- on autopilot -- taken him to Jason.

As his car rolled up, seemingly of its own accord, Nev snapped to and spoke to himself quietly -- attempting to ease his own fears and anxieties. He practically flew to the door, turning the knob only to find it locked. His heart kicked up a notch and he knocked on the center of it before abandoning reason and slamming his palm against it in desperation.

A small hand reached out, placing it on his arm. Her hand was incredibly warm due to her werewolf blood. “Holy shit-- You’re freezing,” she said, quickly pulling her hand away. “Yea, c’mon lets get you inside,” she said, walking with him into the hotel room she was staying in while she was in town.

“Here, sit down and wrap up in his blanket--” she said, offering him a blanket that was laying on the hotel bed.

I know that’s only two, but I’m going to be extra and give you his children and ex-wife:

Oleida Ibanez is Oscar’s first born child with his ex-wife Jocelyn and essentially the reason why the two of them got married in the first place, because they felt it was the right thing to do. So she was there for pretty much all of her parents’ marriage from the rise to the fall and all the ugly moments of it. Unlike her father, she’s open about how damaging those years with her mother was and she’s actively going to therapy to deal with her trauma and work through the arrogant traits she poesses that gets her compared to her mother a lot. Neither of her parents know about that, though and she doesn’t plan on telling them because she’s a 21 year old grown woman. She knows about her father’s connections to the cartel, but she doesn’t know what his involvement is exactly and they’ve never really had a conversation discussing his involvement with organized crime. She’s not even sure that he knows that she’s pieced all the pieces together! She wants nothing to do crime so she could honestly care less about his connections. She’s currently going to school to become a English teacher, but for right now she works as a substitute teacher bouncing from schools to schools.

Olaia Ibanez is the baby of the family. The spoiled one who’s still disgustingly humble and loving. She’s the one who most closely resembles Oscar with her humorous and bubbly personality. She was too young to remember the nasty divorce between her parents and has no idea about her father’s true occupation and connections to crime, so she’s just vibing in her own oblivious bubble. It makes Oleida sick at times how naive and oblivious her younger sister is at times. She’s 18, fresh out of high school, so her main focus right now is school and figuring out what it is exactly that she wants to do. She’s finally at her free will to do mostly whatever she pleases and discover all type of things and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing for her. I’m sort of sensing a Michael Corleone type development for her.

Jocelyn Salas is the terrible terrible ex-wife of Oscar who doesn’t have a faceclaim yet because I’m terrible like that. She comes from a very wealthy influential family who’s money is all clean money and comes from legit businesses, but they just so happen to bump shoulders with those in organized crime from time to time. She grew up spoiled, vain, and on a high horse thinking she was better than the criminals her family surrounded themselves with because of their social status. Even after meeting Oscar and pursuing a relationship her views still didn’t change. Being around him only strengthened her views of being better than everyone else and she never quite saw him as an equal throughout their whole relationship. She was a serial abuser too, but it was often dismissed by her personality just being ‘feisty’, her family burying any claims against her deep, and the fact that she was this 5”4 woman that people didn’t initially believe to be as violent as she was. But they were wrong and Oscar was wrong for ignoring them because those 10 years he spent in a relationship with her was nothing but hell. They still keep in touch to this day and she comes around every now and then because of her daughters. She doesn’t come around all too often because she’s too busy doing whatever her family business is I guess, or at least that’s the excuse that she always gives.
