Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019)

Okay, so I just binged Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral and it was really good!!! My least favorite part was easily the infidelity (really hate that pretty much always) but that was a really small part. What I really loved about it though was that it wasn’t about the main romance. Like, the actual dating part is just sort of a montage in maybe two episodes. But it is about friendships and friends and loss and platonic! love and I really liked that. I was really happy that it wasn’t about the supporting characters all dropping their lives to help Maya but rather that it was a better depiction of healthy friendships (mostly). Everyone had their own lives but all made time for each other and their problems. I liked that they all watched love chalet to support Craig, and that Maya gave Duffy a chance and that Duffy gave Maya an out. And that they all supported Ainsley through her mess. I liked that Ainsley worked through her stuff from being left at the altar and in the end the happy ending wasn’t just about Kash and Maya (super cute tho), but about this great circle of friends not just staying together but growing stronger and making space for new people. It was a really cute story that had some fun twists and I really loved it.

Mindy Kaling really fucked me up when she wrote a funeral scene and had the wife of the deceased say, “I don’t know what I’m going to miss about him yet.” LIKE FUCK ME that shit hurts and it’s so simple yet so fucking true and I’ve been thinking about it non-stop for 36 hours.

Omg omg I absolutely loved this episode!! So many feels and spoilers below. Obviously I think a few things should have been different but as a whole it was so great and justed capped off the show perfectly!!

Gemma and Duffy and their family were so freaking sweet and cute they made me cry. And while Duffy was still a bit of a weiner he was freaking hilarious. (I honestly think this was the funniest episode of the whole show)

Craig and Zara were really cute too!! I also loved the whole Caleb thing (is it just me or was that whole joke a New Girl shout-out?)

Tony got his citizenship! And him and Andrew just gave me a tooth ache!!

So I know Ainsley has been a right stroppy cow for a lot of this show but she was so funny in this and I really appreciated her growth by the end.

Quick shout out to Marcus! I loved him and the fact that he became Maya's campaign manager!! Sooo perfect!

Bashir and Fatima were super cute too I'm glad we got to see them one last time!!

Finally Maya and Kash!!!! So cute I'm glad they got time to work on each other. It was perfect!! Also Maya's last dress was freaking beautiful!!!!

All in all I really enjoyed this show!!!!
