When Harry first found Draco, all he saw was the long hair, and what he saw in his long hair was Lucius Malfoy. So Harry had pressed his mouth into a thin line and only said what he absolutely needed to say. Harry needed a potion, he said. One that would help him focus. He left as soon as he could, and took the short way back to Ginny. They had arrived at Vernazza last night by Portkey and expected to stay three more before embarking on to the next leg of their romantic honeymoon on the continent. It was Harry’s first proper holiday so he was a bit anxious and eager to get back to Ginny. He hoped she could teach him how to act like a normal person and relax. Hermione had said he needed that. He needed to relax. When he got back he found Ginny reading a book. It was one of those hardback ones with a fetching cover of illustrated flowers and scripted golden text. He thought it complimented her because they both looked beautiful as she sat out on the balcony with the sun glowing on her skin and the sea behind her. He waited for her to finish the paragraph and put down the book before he said, “I found Draco Malfoy.” “You found him,” she said with more wariness than he had anticipated. “I wasn’t aware that we were looking for him.” “Yes. Well.” Harry stopped to carefully consider his words. Ginny had not liked what she called his “fixation with the war, it was not healthy, not for him or anyone around him”, and Draco Malfoy would absolutely fit in her and Hermione’s category of “fixation with the war”. So he thought a while longer, and decided that when he set out today, he hadn’t actually been looking for Draco. He had been looking for a potion, to help him focus. So he told her, “No, I wasn’t, I suppose. I was looking for a potion, and there’s only one apothecary in town, and Malfoy happened to be running it. So you could say that I ran into him more than I found him.”

If it were anyone else, Harry would've gotten in their face about it already. He'd say something like, "If you wanna fuck me, then you gotta kiss me too." Or "Listen, my bed would be loads more comfortable for your knees." Or, even, "Dinner?" But Draco isn't just anyone, and that's the whole thing, isn't it? One hand down Draco's chest, and Harry's in the second-floor girl's loo again with his robes drenched in Draco's blood. It's a fucked up thing to have done to someone you want to love.

Harry visits Malfoy in Azkaban. “The fuck are you here for, Potter?” “Wanted to see if you still had your soul and all,” Harry mutters. “I thought one of the Dementors here might try and kiss you.” Malfoy huffs out a laugh and starts coughing and hacking up shit, sounding real awful. Awful in that way that makes you want to laugh, too. Then you feel guilty about laughing later.

hi liv!! how do you feel about the secret or mistaken identity trope? 👀

Love it BUT am picky about it 😂🤡 secret identity used to be my shit back in the day. It was one of my favorite Steve/Tony tropes in the MCU, and my favorite Drarry fic ever explores it in the nuanced and complicated way that I love. I feel a bit weird if one of the characters is left completely in the dark (unless there are ulterior motives in play like in TBWOLT) and they get involved anyway, before a reveal. Emotional imbalance is one of my few squicks so I usually proceed with caution when I see a fic with this tag. Other than that I’m so here for it, this trope is like my kryptonite and makes for incredible clever and complex plots 🔥

X. give a summary of your current project!

I did answer this one over here, but let me tell you a few fun facts about Find It:

The title is from the poem, And Now Upon My Head the Crown by Philip B. Williams. A close second choice and probably the closer quote for this fic is Anne Carson's O Small Sad Ecstasy of Love.

I had Evil Plans for Harry's closest coworker (Nell Redburne), which is why Ron isn't an Unspeakable. I won't share whether or not those Evil Plans have changed. I also gave her a crow because I wanted my readers to like her.

In what I've posted, Harry has just tripped over one of the major motifs of the rest of the fic. He doesn't know it yet, though.

This is probably my favourite planning note from it: "Later, over dessert, Draco pins him down and demands to return the favour."

And here's a line from the unposted chapter 9: "I thought you didn't want to come." Malfoy gestured to the barren walls, all of Dumbledore's trinkets gone, all of his memories replaced by green growth.

Z. how to you feel about your wip compared to other works of yours?

Very, very mixed. I love this story, and I'm so excited about it. I think it has potential to be one of my favourites of mine. But I've also stalled in writing it, and stalled when it's a live WIP, despite my plans and careful plotting, and I've let myself get so in my head about it that I've lost some of the spark for it. I think that will come back when I'm able to write it more consistently, but for now, I'm hesitantly looking forward to writing more.

#6 & 7 please!!

Thanks for the ask, dear xx 

For number 7, I think that my favorite piece of description is from my fic, the god of ghosts and dreams, where Harry is showing Draco around the underworld. It was really fun to think of different places that could exist there, and how much joy it would bring Harry to share them with Draco! 

I take him to my favourite parts of the underworld, places that no one but me has seen. We visit the underwater lake that is near the entrance to the fields of Elysium. The water is so clear that you can see hundreds of metres into its depths. Draco tells me it is similar to the cenotes in México. He asks if we can go swimming. I’ve never swam in the lake, but I figure it can’t hurt anything. I am the ruler, after all. We strip down to our pants and jump in, the water cool but refreshing. I have to force my attention away from Draco’s lean body.

I take him to visit my pride and joy of the underworld—my garden. Even though there is no natural light, I’ve created floating spheres that emit a soft glow, giving the plants all that they need to thrive. Everything that grows there has been carefully tended by my own hand, but I am most proud of my pomegranate trees. I pick one of the ripe fruits, break open its peel with my thumb, and bow low and offer Draco a single seed. He denies it, as I knew he would, but the blush that rises to his cheeks makes it a worthwhile endeavor.

I already answered #6 over here for drarry, but if you’ll indulge me, I’ll provide my favorite dialogue from my witcher fic, I Will Follow You Into the Dark. This was my first foray into The Witcher, and I had a lot of fun writing Jaskier’s character and the kind of banter he and Yennefer would have. I hope you enjoy :)

“Does that mean that you can help me?” Jaskier asked eagerly, clasping his hands together and pulling them against his chest pleadingly. “O great and wondrous sorceress?” He was not above using flattery to get what he wanted.

“You would trust a spell like that from a stranger?” she asked. “You must be braver than I am.”

“I don’t consider you a stranger.”

“You don’t even know my name.”

“You don’t know mine,” he retorted.

“I am not the one claiming that we’re not strangers. Besides, I do know it, Jaskier.”

“I am a famous bard,” he said while giving her a small bow. “I’m sure you’ve heard my songs sung throughout the Continent.”

“While that is true, it is not the reason I know your name,” she said cryptically.

“It’s only fair that you tell me yours since you know mine.” Jaskier gave her his most winning smile.

“Since I’m feeling generous, I will oblige you.” The sorceress stood up straighter, and Jaskier felt it in his bones that his life would be forever changed for knowing who stood in front of him. “I am Yennefer of Vengerberg.”
