They’re giggling, like small children, which they believe they are not-- 

(they are-- someday they’ll know, someday it’ll sink in like razor blades that they were children back then.)

 --a picnic blanket is splayed out on top of a grassy cliff, bottles of alcohol perched precariously thanks to a not-completely smooth surface underneath it.

In the distance, they can see a rock shaped like a skull, surrounded by the ocean. The night is clear, the wind is cool and salt-laced, and the stars almost seem to have cast everything in glitter.

Including Cloud’s eyes. Or, it may be because he’s drunk-- rum and spirits stolen from the half-baked pirates that plagued this world. Either way, he looks beautiful.

“Best idea,” Squall says breathlessly, loping his arms around Cloud’s shoulders and drawing him close, into an awkward puppy-nuzzle. “Best night.”

And /there's/ the shit eating grin, Cloud chuckling lowly as he glanced to her, watching.

Reggie shivers at the touch. Something about the way Cloud talks when he’s in these moods goes straight to her loins, and she can’t find it in herself to mind.

She lifts her eyes to his and grins wickedly. “Promises, promises, my dear doctor,” she purrs back. “You shouldn’t raise a girl’s hopes like that... she might expect you to deliver.”

◈ ( 8l Hit me with it. I need to throw Cloud at your Demyx anyways, either in KH form or FF7 Form. ONE OF THE TWO. You're too fabulous not to ~Loon)

[YES. A thousand times yes, strap Cloud into a catapult and FIRE HIM AT DEMYX because I love your Cloud and this needs to happen ok. I’ll fling out a few ideas for KH or FF7 occurrences!]

KH:

Demyx hangs out at the Olympus Coliseum a LOT. It’s his special slacking-off place. (I s2g someone somewhere is gonna read that as ‘jacking-off’ place). One day he accidentally for some reason enters himself into a tournament. Who should his opponent be but Cloud?

Demyx is ordered to hunt down some dude called Sephiroth, because holy hell that guy’s darkness sounds sweet af and the Org. would love to attempt to exploit that shit. He happens across Cloud on his search. Cue reluctant partnership in the ‘how hard is it to find a conspicuous silver-haired dude with a massive sword’ club.

Hades dislikes Demyx because the little shit was scampering around his Underworld with a stolen Olympus Stone. He dislikes Cloud for reneging on their deal. He sets them both up on a date with Cerberus the three-headed dog, hoping to slaughter two birds with one stone. Once again, cue reluctant partnership for survival purposes. And bonding over mutual Hades hatred.

Demyx skulks around Radiant Garden and happens to run into Cloud? Idk, this one has a lot of possibilities - could happen at any point, up until Demyx’s defeat during the Battle of 1000 Heartless. 

FF7:

This could go one of two ways. Either Demyx retains his KH persona and is for whatever reason in the FF7 world, or I can make him into FF7!Demyx and AU the crap out of it. I’m familiar enough with the game to go either way!

So, like. Demyx as a ShinRa grunt. Or a SOLDIER. Or a citizen of Midgar. OR A CHOCOBO RACER omfg. 

Whatever happens in the FF7 world, I demand that chocobos be involved. Demyx must meet a chocobo. Cloud must introduce him to one. Pls? Even in the KH world. This needs to be a thing.

KH Demyx portals into the FF7 world back in the days of Cloud’s ShinRa association, and is immediately captured and experimented on by Hojo bc hey, wtf is this strange heartless man? Cloud wanders in on that scenario somehow? 

I’m foggy af with these jesus sorry. KH Demyx discovers materia in the FF7 world and is ordered to steal some and bring them back to the Org. for experimental purposes. He runs afoul of Cloud while doing so.

I could probably think of a thousand others tbh but these probably all suck. :’3 Lemme know what you think sometime!

Looks down at a clipboard all professional like before meeting Demyx's gaze, "Son, I'm sorry but it appears to me that you just so happen to be on /all the drugs/," Oh god it's so hard for the medic to keep a straight face with this, but it's totally worth it.

“Oh, man. You gotta get me the fix, doc!”

He doesn’t know why he’s talking like a 90′s gangster movie. All the drugs do this to a man; he is changed now. He’s probably only tripping that there’s a medical professional here anyway. It’s probably just that monkey again. It haunts him.
