[*kicks down your door* FUCK YES LIKE FUCK YEA. I read those books in Dutch when I was younger and I wanted to buy them in English for so fucking long now, but I had no idea what they were called BUT I DO NOW THANK YOU SO MUCH ]

He figures that now after all has been said and done that it is a good time to visit Erebor. He does not like the way his father treated the Dwarves (even if it was for the better for their kingdom) and he feels like maybe if he can make amends, should another war break out, maybe they would not have to lose so many people. The dwarves are strong and fierce and he can not help but admire them. 

So he rides in, gifts of gold and food and spices in his packs, doing his best to remain unthreatening.
