Soaring Tortoise - The Trust-ei Companion BFFY-2 fuzz
"... is based on the honorable Shin-ei Companion FY-2 fuzz with the addition of a special happy face control. The fuzz is chock full of super vintage Mojo starting with the enclosure which was originally a solid oak antique card catalog drawer that has been shortened for our fuzz purposes. Think of all the knowledge that was in that drawer. Where did it go? Additionally the material covering the control panel is part of a Dacron neck tie that belonged to a 50+ year career preacher and theologian. What does that have to do with Mojo you say? Son House, Skip James, Charlie Patton, Little Richard. What do these men have in common? All Preachers! [ed. note: At this point I feel I should step in and say that there is no such thing as Mojo, super vintage or otherwise, the tone is all in your fingers.] The vintage pnp silicon transistors used in the circuit are American in origin and were sourced from a decommissioned elementary school film reel projector. The fuzz has a true bypass slide switch and power is supplied by a single nine volt battery easily accessible from the control panel."
