LOOOLLL DOES ANYBODY ELSEāS HOSPITAL HAVE ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS TEMPERATURE CONTROL???
Itās an oven in the summer. Freezer in the winter. There is no in between.
And no we do not have Air Con lol this is Britain jog on.
We complained about it being too cold last year BECAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY SO COLD WE HAD TO WEAR COATS INDOORS so they decided to keep the radiators PERMANENTLY on.
Iām not kidding, one of the ward managers told me sheād asked and was told that there is no way to turn any single radiator off without the heating in the entire building malfunctioning and that is why they all have a metal cover sealing them in but also if you accidentally brush up against one you WILL get a third degree burn because IT IS SCORCHING HOT METAL COVERING A RADIATOR.
In addition to this, EVERY FAN IN THE HOSPITAL HAS A BRIGHT ORANGE BINBAG TAPED OVER IT BECAUSE APPARENTLY THEY WILL BLOW CORONAVIRUS ONTO US IF THEY ARE TURNED ON.
Also they recently renovated the ward Iām on and somehow managed to PAINT THE MDT ROOM WINDOWS SHUT.
Not that it makes much of a difference as the windows have those toddler safety latches so they could only open about an inch anyway.
Night handover with all the doctors who have just done the 12 hour long day smells like one massive cumulative sweaty armpit. AND ALSO WHEN YOU ADD THE BODY HEAT FROM ALL THE DAY AND NIGHT ON CALL STAFF FROM EVERY DEPARTMENT IN THE HOSPITAL TO THE SEALED WINDOWS, BINBAGGED FANS AND GENERAL SUMMER HEAT IT WAS ENOUGH FOR ONE DOCTOR TO HAVE TO EXCUSE HERSELF BECAUSE SHE WAS ABOUT TO PASS OUT.
Never thought Iād miss the Central Line.
