When FYA met coffee- Order up for Sloane!

Sloane Tavish is better with numbers than she is with people which makes her a great teenage crime scene analyst/profiler. With the rest of the Naturals, she’s able to assist the FBI in solving the worst of the crimes. Need Sloane to do something special for you?  Bribe her with fully caffeinated coffee!  Coffee is her weakness, but it also makes her a bit crazy for a while.  Here’s her special order: Skinny Venti, 3 shots Red Eye with a half pump of chocolate (for the extra caffeine)

Vivian Gandillon (from Blood and Chocolate) would enjoy an O+, a strawberry mocha for the modern werewolf who wants her guy (and to eat him, too).

The two flavors (inspired by the title of the book) represent the two halves of her nature - blood red strawberry syrup as her wolf side and dark chocolate as her human side.

The Black Dog Sirius black likes his coffee like he likes his last name- dark and dangerous. This coffee comes with a punch: 4 shots of espresso, creamy ever changing foam, and a sprinkle of dark rum sugar. This drink is for "Sirius" coffee lovers only.

Coffee with August and Kate. They’d probably go to a small hipster kind of place in North City. August would get a tea, probably an English breakfast. He can’t taste it anyway but he likes the smell of tea and the warmth of the cup in his hands. Kate, however, gets coffee. Black. An iced black eye to be exact because she wants her caffeine ASAP!

Waverly Camdenmar’s Coffee Order

Sophomore year, Maribeth took me to this new coffee shop she’d found because she had a crush on the hipster college barista that worked there. He’d mistaken her for a freshman at the local college, which is all Maribeth really wanted in life.

She ordered an iced Americano because she said it made her seem sophisticated, and she got it with almond milk because I guess cow’s milk is really bad for the environment and the barista seemed sort of granola. She ordered me the same thing because we are “besties” and besties order matching coffees. She’s been ordering us the same drink ever since.

I never told her that it takes a gallon of water to grow a single almond so almond milk probably isn’t doing the earth any favors either. I don’t even like espresso and definitely shouldn’t drink it now that my body refuses to sleep. But I never told her that either. It was just easier to smile and drink the coffee.

Amber’s recipe for an Americano that is destined NOT to fail

One shot of espresso (two if you've been roadtripping and need the energy) Water up to the top for that classic Americano style A shot of whiskey No whiskey Um, maybe just a bit of whiskey? All in my favourite feminist mug Served with sweet and salty biscuits (because you never know how mum will be)

Our coffee is inspired by Amber from Holly Bourne’s How Hard Can Love Be? Amber is a British transplant to America so we figured if she’s drinking coffee it has to be an Americano. She has a difficult relationship with her mother (and her mother’s difficult relationship with alcohol) so sweet and salty biscuits and a shot of whiskey seemed the perfect accompaniments. And of course it had to be served in a mug that lets everyone know she’s a feminist and not afraid to show it!

George Weasley’s go-to favorite. Used to be Fred’s favorite too. [Pour one out for Fred.] Sugar and booze and coffee, topped generously with whipped cream and cinnamon - what’s not to like. Great after a long day working at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes - maybe go with the decaf version if you want to get any sleep.

1/3 cup espresso

1/3 cup milk

2 tbsp mocha syrup

Ogden’s Old Firewhiskey (to taste)

Blend!

Top with whipped cream and cinnamon
