☁: Favorite part of RPing: Lemme just....there are so many things!

I love to exercise writing techniques and the ways in which to evolve as an author over time. I’ve already grown in the couple of months I’ve been here, and it will only continue to grow.

The stories/plots. This is a big one, honestly, because why else would you choose such a hobby or profession? Expanding on the verses and their source material, meeting new characters, watching them grow and bond or kill each other. I want it all.

Friends. I love writing fanfiction, but the beauty and allure of roleplaying means that I’m not doing it alone. There are other people who throw me curveballs where I am usually always aware of what comes next. The anxiousness of awaiting replies is an addicting thing, forever lost in your mind wondering, “What’s going to happen next?”. But I also love to establish a bond with the person behind the muse and creating long-lasting friendships. ♥

Lastly, specifically for my Yuna muse: I am a weak soul when it comes to my OTP. So I do it because I need it in my life the same way I need air in my lungs. No regrets or shame at all.♥♥♥

No matter how desperately she’d conveyed to her cousin how uncomfortable she felt, or expressed her sheer nervousness, somehow, the pleas fell on deaf ears where Rikku had been concerned. Though she looked forward to meeting new people and braving adventures into the unknown, there was this nagging feeling in the back of her mind—casting aside a large piece of her past so suddenly—she almost didn’t recognize her own reflection; how would other people react?

Despite donning new attire—or the lack thereof—at the Al Bheds insistence, she found herself being dragged by the wrist and ushered onto the bridge.

The Celsius was as marvelous as Rikku had described; far beyond anything she could have imagined, only ever having been on one other airship. The energetic blonde bounced around excitedly, rapidly glossing over the names of the crew members—almost as if she expected her to already know who they were—and she’d tried her best to meet their acknowledgment with as much poise and grace as Rikku would allow.

Alas….it proved to be a fruitless endeavor.

Truthfully...some were familiar faces from two years ago. But others...not so much. One particularly caught her eye--at first blush, the woman reminded her of Lulu. All the way down to the wine-colored hues that met her cautious stare.

“Um...hello,” Carelessly slipping back into the habits of yore and offering up a bow in their presence. “It’s a pleasure to meet everyone.”

Not A Drill || Paine;

There was something to be said about university fire alarms, and that was that they never went off at a convenient time. Usually, it was when everyone decided to sleep, or start cooking-- For Rikku, however, she just so happened to be taking a shower when the shrill alarm bounced off the walls, forcing her into such a panic that she nearly slipped over the wet tile in her naked haste. Talk about disasterrific. Having enough decency to wrap a fluffy towel around herself, she skidded out of the shower stall to follow the rest of the gathering crowd toward the exit-- an exit that guaranteed the bite of November's unforgiving chill, something that the blonde had completely forgotten about. Wincing and grasping the towel closer to herself, she scurried over to the closest patch of available space away from the dormitories, scalp already tingling from the cold.

Okay, so maybe showering at nearly three in the morning wasn't such a great idea, but it's not like she anticipated a fire alarm so late-- Grumbling in Al Bhed, she wondered who it was this time that decided to set off the smoke alarm with their terrible popcorn microwaving abilities. Gippal? Probably. At this point, she slowly became aware of someone else not too far from her spot, clad in nothing but a sports bra and boy shorts.

Paine.

She stood there, smoking a cigarette, looking all the more indifferent to the world. Rikku didn't care for tobacco at all, preferring to protest the behavior but the way Paine was holding it made her forget that she was sort of blatantly staring at the girl while practically naked herself. Glancing away as inconspicuously as possible (which for Rikku, was not at all), she shivered and hugged her obnoxiously sunshine yellow towel closer, wishing she didn't have to be a dripping mess right now of all times. Maybe she didn't notice. Right? Right.

|| Paine {Modern AU}

Her vacation in Bikanel had been worthwhile, but the blonde could hardly contain herself when the airship touched ground in Luca-- her new home. Sure, she missed her Pops and Brother to pieces (not that she would admit it out loud so easily, big dummies that they are), but home was home, which now meant a tiny apartment nestled by an Al Bhed community along the shorelines. It had taken her so long to convince Paine on the location, considering the price of the place-- shore side wasn't cheap, after all. Not by a long shot. But she wouldn't have traded it for anywhere else in Luca. With a glance at her phone, she decided against sending the other woman a text-- she wanted her return to be a surprise. "Paine! E's pylg!" Kicking open the door with one foot, she dragged her suitcase and purse with her, depositing them on the floor before taking a good look around the room. Same knick knacks, little rug on the floor and decorations hanging on their walls--Her eyes then settled on the couch, where Paine was taking advantage of the little fan they owned to avoid as much of the summer heat as possible without making use of their air conditioner. But then she noticed something else.

"Whoa, hey-- you-- you're so tan!" Jaw dropping, Rikku struggled for words. Normally, she would have gone in for a hug by now, but the change was so unexpected that she could only just stand there. She almost looked like a different person, and yet they'd been apart for a couple of months or so. How'd that happen? When had Paine ever been so tan? With an almost envious expression, her tone adopted a bit of a whine. "How'd you do that!? You're darker than me!" She was the one who'd been on vacation, too!
