In which Xan remarks

You’ll see.” -- Xan tells Fyrian in The Girl Who Drank the Moon (Kelly Barnhill, 176). How easy it is to make the above passage sinister: Just because you don’t see something doesn’t mean it isn’t there.  Some of the most terrible things in the world are invisible.  Not trusting in invisible things doesn’t make them less powerful or awful.  You’ll see. How equally easy it is to make the sinister passage less so: Just because you don’t see something doesn’t meant it isn’t there.  Some of the most frightening things in the world are invisible.  Not trusting in invisible things can make them less powerful and horrible.  You’ll see.

The concept for Fyrian was seeded years earlier when the founder, Daniel, recognised that there wasn't a high-quality range of candles available for men. Furthermore, not all personal tastes are drawn to the delicate glassware seen in many candle ranges.
