I may have forgot after following you for years but how did JC and Tyler meet each other in their original world? How did their relationship develop?

They met at an organization (Bionic) that was recruiting people like them (aberrants with powers) to fight, though they were both there for their own reasons and not because they wanted to be part of the war. They grew closer after spending time together on missions/ training together/ just hanging out. Tyler’s interest in Jc was initially superficial like oh hey a cute guy but jc was pretty no nonsense with him while maintaining that he was open to being friends. Jc helped tyler get sober + smacked some sense into him so he’d be less irresponsible/reckless… and eventually tyler did fall for jc for real. He was rebuffed though, partly bc he confessed while drunk and partly bc Jc is someone who doesn’t develop those sorts of feelings easily, and jc wasn’t sure if he felt the same at that time, even if he did care about tyler a lot as a friend. BOTH OF THEM THEN decided to act like the confession never happened– Jc bc he didn’t know how to deal with it, and Tyler bc he didn’t want to lose Jc’s friendship. They remain just bffs for a looong time after before anything else happens, and this is the part where they do dumb stuff and get into trouble together a lot LOL
