Panic and fear grip at you suddenly in your sleep, and you jolt upright with a shout, clutching at your chest. You stumble from bed in a panicked frenzy, stumbling about the large dark house blindly for some time before heavy footsteps break your panic. A large, soft hand scoops you up, whispering that it’s okay, you’ll be okay, you can stop.

You scramble against the large hand that holds you, insisting there are things that need doing, but it holds firm, and soon you’re deposited onto a pillow, softer than any pillow has any right to be. You try to get up, but the soft fabric and squishy material make it impossible.

“Calm down, little guy...” A soft voice says, a hand resting over you like a blanket as a large face slides close to you. You slide down the fabric until your form is pressed lightly against their face, and you bury your face into their cheek, letting out a faint sob as you finally let yourself vent. They’re quiet the whole time, listening intently to you, gently stroking your back with their thumb.

You don’t know when it happened, but you fell asleep at some point, you had to have, because you woke up next to them in the exact same spot. But they don’t need to know you’re awake now, not when they’re so clearly asleep. A little more sleep with your giant wouldn’t hurt, would it?
