Does he really mean that much to you?
-We weren’t really aiming at you. We weren’t really going to hurt you. It was just a game. -A game? No, a bit of fun. A laugh.
Wanna help me get my $55 back?
Tarol, the author of the webcomic Goblins (some adult content) has recently posted news on his Kickstarter. Years ago, he ran a massively successful kickstarter campaign to create a tabletop cardgame based on his comic. When the money came in, the president of the game company he had hired took the money and ran. Literally. This person has cut off all contact with Tarol and the other employees at the game company.
IN THIS BLOG POST Tarol tells of a similar game maker that was forced by the Federal Trade Commission to refund his backers. Tarol has asked all of his backers and any other internet citizens interested in justice (that’s you) to contact the FTC and ask them to go after the perp.
Click here to go to the FTC site.
The actual amounts are…
$177,850 Direct payments through Kickstarter
$5314 Payments made to the Kickstarter campaign through Paypal/credit cards
$??? Roughly two years of profits from his ongoing, merchandise sales for Goblins:Altered Realities products that were never to be made and shipped. (That’s right, after the kickstarter closed the guy had the gall to keep selling add-ons and related merch through his company store, knowing the whole time they would never been made!)
Tarol has offered his twitter account (@ThuntGoblins) to anyone with more questions.
